Basically, ditto to Zette’s answer:
Yeah, I’d do it. But only for fun. And only if I had the body for it.

Question for those of you who have stripped in the past: Is there a real “body requirement” for it? I mean I really can’t imagine a strip club not hiring a girl because she didn’t have large enough breasts, too large thighs, blah, blah, whatever.
Just curious, since everybody seems to be adding the qualifier “if I had the body for it.”
Honey, if I didn’t have a big gut and a small dick, I would be stripping right now. It can’t be worse than many of the jobs I’ve held and it’s certainly more lucrative than most At least, I hopes it pays better than flipping burgers at the local greasy spoon.
In my one experience in a strip club, it seemed clear that having a great body was not a requirement. (Hmmn, that sounds worse than what I mean ).
The major qualification seems to be a willingness to do it. Weight might be an issue, but the size of what you’re shaking is not.
A couple of things would give me pause:
–the environment. While I know there are some high-class strip joints out there, a lot of them are just gross. Cheaply furnished, poorly maintained, in lousy parts of town. It would therefore be a depressing place to work.
–the mind-numbingness of it. I like that my job requires me to think, and to interact with people on an intellectual basis, and I don’t think stripping would provide that.
–my book club. It meets at night, so if I worked nights at a strip club I’d have to give it up.
As near as I can figure, though, the other things people have mentioned would bother me. However, I’m probably a worse dancer than the worst of you, so that’s a problem…
I have to ask cause I’ve never heard this term before - pencil test?
here’s the run down on the pencil test.
If I had the body for it – which I almost do, except that I was hiding behind the door when they handed out the breasts so I ended up with Itty and Bitty the Microtits – I probably would, but I would be choosy about where I did it. I would go into the club with friends before applying, and check the atmosphere and rules. And I’d probably see the occasional therapist to keep my self-esteem stable.
But hey, it’s good money. It’s not that much demeaning from most customer service.
(though I don’t think I’d ever do it in any town where I had any relatives or old high-school friends)
No I wouldn’t do it. The whole idea icks me out on a number of levels.
I don’t care if others do it, but I really don’t want to be involved.
Just lucky, I reckon. I got very good breast genes. I also have rather a nice ass. I don’t have a beautiful face, I’m too short to have really great legs, I’m nowhere near as bright as I’d like to be and, as I said previously, I got no rhythm at all… but I hit the jackpot tits-and-ass-wise.
And, honest-to-god, I really was still passing the pencil test at age 35. I wish I’d taken some pictures for posterity. Even I was surprised – I was starting to think I’d done some sort of weird Faustian exchange in my sleep: “Sure, Mr. Satan, I’ll be happy to trade my soul for a really great rack.” Then I hit 36 or so and things started to slide… However, while the set is a lot lower than it used to be, I must admit they still ain’t bad considering the mileage. I’ve know much younger women with much smaller boobs who sag a good deal more than I do. It ain’t much of a claim to fame, but there it is.
Jess
Most of the women I worked with were pretty easy on the eyes but I’ve been in strip clubs where it was a good thing the lights were dim. There’s some not-so-pretty women working in some clubs. As for body requirements, I don’t think it really matters, it’s more in the attitude. I don’t have really big tits… 34B at the time I stripped… but everything else looked pretty damn good and I wasn’t scared to get out there and have fun with it.
When I was growing up this was considered failing the pencil test, as a falling pencil is virtually always a sign of small breasts rather than general perkiness.
You don’t need large breasts to be a stripper. At a strip club I went to once there were several girls with Bs and As who did quite well. There was even a woman who looked to be in her 40s, had stretch marks and small breasts that sagged despite being little, an unattractive face, and she seemed to get just as many tips as the attractive girls. There was also a girl with a huge butt who looked like she probably weighed about 175 lbs. at 5’5" or so - this wasn’t one of the high class places, of course, but I wouldn’t mind making the money they did.
I would strip if I could find a place that would hire me. It seems the standards for male strippers are higher than the standards for female strippers, though. A female stripper can get away with a gut.
