Stub Hub?

Anyone purchase tickets from stubhub? I would like to go to the Buffalo Bills game this Sunday. There are tickets available from stubub that you print yourself. Sounds kinda sketchy. I have to drive 5 hours to get to the stadium so do not want to make the trip, and then be told the tickets are no good.

Thanks

We’ve had nothing but joy buying Padres tickets from Stub Hub. Never any hassle - just print them out and let the guy scan them at the gate.

My sisters bought my ticket to the 2011 U2 concert from Stub Hub. Had no issues at all at the gate.

I frequently get my Mariners tickets from them. But no one is going to scam you for a Mariners ticket. I bought one Seahawk game from stub hub last year, went fine. Great seats.

In my observation, printing out your own tickets is fairly standard practice nowadays.

Stub Hub is the gold standard for reputable ticket buying. They are the official outlet for many teams.

I came in here to say this.

I’ve bought from Stubhub before and never had any issues.

I bought a ticket to Paul McCartney from stub hub. When I got the ticket, they sent a phone number to call “in the very unlikely event” that the ticket was no good. I did not write down the number, assuming it was on the ticket somewhere.

When I got to the stadium, the ticket was scanned and I was told it had already been used. I didn’t call stub hub because I didn’t have the number. Instead, I went to a friend’s house who lives 1 block from the stadium and listened to the concert with some very nice people.

The next day I replied to the stub hub email and told them what happened. Someone called me back within a day and refunded the full ticket price immediately. I was also asked to fill out and digitally sign a form that told what happened and avowed that I really didn’t get in and I didn’t sell the ticket to someone else. They said they wanted that so they could go after the seller who screwed me. After they received the form they gave me a $100 stub hub credit.

According to what they say, if I had called the number, they would have called the stadium box office and gotten me an as good as or better than ticket. Since I didn’t call I can’t say that this would have worked/how long I would have waited on hold etc.

I was sorry not to get in but overall pretty satisfied with their response.

Just one more voice chiming in to say I’ve had nothing but success with Stub Hub in the four or so years I’ve been using them to go to sporting events. I don’t know of anyone else who has had a bad time with it, either.

I’ve both bought and sold tickets using stubhub with no problems at all. Selling in particular was less of a hassle than I would have imagined.

As for printing tickets yourself, I’m pretty sure every ticket I’ve used in the last 3 or 4 years has either been one I printed myself or was scanned directly from my cell phone. I honestly can’t remember the last physical ticket I used.

I’ve bought tickets a couple of times from them–never had any problems.

I have bought tickets to White Sox games twice using StubHub. No problems. The strange thing, for me, was printing the tickets out. A full page ticket with a “Hey Doofus” admonition in bold type that says “THIS IS YOUR TICKET”. They scanned just fine at the game, and I’ll certainly use StubHub again.

StubHub is very reputable, nothing sketchy about it.

Is printing your own tickets the part that is bugging you? Please join the 21st Century. Even if you buy tickets direct from the source you will probably end up printing them yourself. Once I even displayed tickets on my smartphone to be scanned on entry, no printing involved. I have printed my own tickets for Washington Nationals, Cirque du Soleil, and a dozen other entertainment events, not to mention plane tickets.

I’ve had no problems with them. I bought concert tickets through them this spring and the transaction went smoothly - though the seller accidentally only sent one of my two tickets so they had to send a second package with the second ticket. Stubhub called me to notify me that I had two packages coming instead of one.

A friend also sold two Lollapalooza tickets there a little over a month ago and was pleased with how the transaction went on her end, as well.

At Yankee Stadium and Citi Field you can get your ticket right at the Will Call window.

When I sold tickets they just had me scan and upload my tickets (which I actually did by making a screen shot of the “print your ticket” web page). After that they took care of everything. I was completely out of the loop until I received an email saying the tickets had sold and the money showed up in my paypal account.

Lollapalooza is a little different in that the tickets are actually bracelets with chips in them so she had to wait until they sold and then FedEx them to the buyer.

Just curious, so how would it work if you AND the new purchaser showed up to the event with the new tickets?
And I guess the bigger question is: How do venues handle disputes when two people show up with identical tickets for the same seat?

When that happened at a Dodger game, they had both of us accompany them to the office. The other gal disappeared along the way.

Guess whose ticket was fake?

I used them to buy Giants tickets with no problems. I liked their website better than Pacbell Park’s website because I could get a better idea of where I would be sitting before buying my ticket. The fees seemed comparable to Ticketmaster.
