I finally got back in the water for a scuba dive. About time, too, since I’m supposed to go to the Keys this weekend.

I finally applied for a passport. Just got back, nice thread! I’ve been telling myself I was going to do it for over a decade now.
We finally rearranged the bedroom. It’s a biggish room with a slightly funky shape, and before, each piece of furniture was crammed into the smallest space that would accommodate it. The desk was hemmed in by dressers, and the bed was obstructing the bookshelves and a dressing table. This left a huge empty space in the middle of the room, and yet it felt horribly crowded.
Now, there’s room to maneuver around everything, and there’s a logical flow: there’s a sleeping/dressing area, and an office/sitting room area. Even though the central open space is actually smaller now, it feels like the entire room is half again as big as it was. And it looks so much better, especially after I got a new bedspread and replaced the rickety old side tables with some sleek (and cheap!) new ones. Even my husband, who genuinely does not give a giddy goddamn (and yet gamely helped me rearrange everything), said, “Wow! It looks like some kind of fancy boutique hotel in here now!”
Yes. Yes, it does.
A lot recently.
- Bought a new car (had to, since the old one failed inspection).
- Lost weight (15 pounds so far)
- Get a new computer.
- Replace my old charcoal grill with a Weber this time.
- Used up the Lowe’s gift card I’ve had since last August.
- Got new glasses.
The day I closed on my condo, I went to Lowe’s and bought a bunch of stuff I needed: paint, painting supplies, etc., and self-adhesive floor tiles to cover the bottom of one of my kitchen cabinets which I’d had the sellers replace because the original was warped. This past January I finally got around to putting those self-adhesive tiles down, and the inside of that cabinet is so much nicer to look at now.
Oh, did I mention I bought my condo in 2007?
