My dog tries to sit on my head when he’s scared. He weighs 50 pounds so I try to discourage him. I’m really not sure what he thinks sitting on my head will accomplish.
He also refuses to stick his head under anything to get a toy - even if the toy is halfway out from under the couch or chair. The weird thing about it is that he sleeps under the covers (with his head completely covered) and will sleep under the dining room table. But God forbid that he actually stick his head under a dining room chair to get his ball…
I had a boss that used to do that with his finger. It was disgusting!
ROFL gasping for air! ! !
My dog, a black lab, plays a doggy version of hackey-sack when I give him a grape*. He’ll pick it up with his teeth, throw it in the air, then roll onto his back and try to get under it when it lands. Then he’ll get up and roll into it as it’s on the ground, then pick it up again and fling it a few feet, roll onto it again, etc.
*Grapes are toxic to dogs, I know. He never eats it, just bats it around for awhile
Similarly, my first dog Bear, also raised with cats, would purr when contented. Of course, dogs don’t really have the right vocal apparatus to purr, so it was effectively just a sort of growl, but he only did it when he was happy.
I WILL NOT GET A DOG. YOU GUYS AND YOUR CUTE DOG STORIES CAN’T MAKE ME. I WILL NOT GET A DOG.i
You would probably get some congratulations-on-your-new-dog presents if you did…
cockerlover, welcome to the Boards.
You’ve revived a really old thread, which we call a zombie. We prefer that you not do that. If you want to start a new discussion about your dog, you may do so, but I’m going to close this one.
Please take the time to go by ATMB (About This Message Board) to read our rules and guidelines.
Again, welcome.
