Several years ago I had installed one of those suction cup smart phone holders on my car’s inner windshield. As they sometimes do, when the temperature dropped, it fell off. It was dark and I was driving, so I didn’t see exactly where the holder fell. The phone, which was tethered to the charger cord, dropped on the seat next to me, but the phone holder simply disappeared. The car was closed, windows all closed, there was no where it could have gone. And yet, it never resurfaced.
When I traded in the car, I jokingly asked the dealership employee to let me know if the thing surfaced when they were going over the car (purely out of curiosity, I didn’t want it back). I told him the story. A week later, I got a call. He told me they had done a very thorough job cleaning and detailing the inside of the car, but no sign of the phone holder.
