stunning picture

Paint Shop Pro expert here adding 2 cents: an edge enhance didn’t reveal anything out of the ordinary.

One can only imagine the look on those surfers’ faces though.

I didn’t for one nanosecond think this was a fake.

Well I don’t know, in looking at it more closely there are some subtle, low level digital anomalies.

Nope, can´t see nuthin´ wrong there.

I’m not a photo expert, nor a marine biologist. But I’ve spent lots of time at sea. I’m a Navy veteran.

This wouldn’t be out of line with how dolphins swim and behave around people.

Dammit, astro, you finally did it! All those years of exercising iron control at the keyboard shot to hell. It would have to be orange juice, too.

The Hasidic Jewish Surfer’s Union wants to have a word with you.

they do love waves here is proof

more having fun
no surfers this time

ANOTHER stunning photo!

Look Ma! No beard!

Darnit! Site won’t let me link!

it’s the surfers that look a bit off to me (and no, it’s not their apparent “color” either!) - the dolphins are way cool though - and so are all the other dolphin pics mentioned here. Thanks! Good way to start a rainy Monday…

I saw a program on the Discovery Channel not so long ago that had footage of dolphins surfing. Maybe not quite as many at once, but they very obviously enjoy it and love joining in with humans.

It looks real to me.

About 20 years ago, I was body surfing at Bolsa Chica State Beach in SoCal. I caught a good-sized wave, and then noticed two larger-than-human sized objects with fins in the wave with me, about 5 feet away. I freaked, immediately thinking “SHARK ATTACK!!!”. I swam in as fast as I could, sprinted through the white wash and collapsed, trembling on the sand. Only then did it strike me that their tail fins were horizontal, not vertical and that I had just surfed with dolphins, not sharks. Alas, the dolphins didn’t stick around for another ride.

I dont see it… What about the surfers looks off to you?

Things going thru those surfers minds:
*Flipper? I never even kissed her!

What is my porpoise in life?*
And ending with… 27 dorsal fins.

There isn’t enough “WHEEEEEE!” in the world to sufficiently caption that series of photos.

Dolphins…swimmmig around in the water, that’s not right! Swimming in the waves like crazy people!

Dolphins are too smart to swim in schools. They have graduated to pods… just fyi…

 Soooo funny! I miss that guy. What ever happened to Kevin Anderson(?)?

I’ve actually seen this action in real life, although under decidely different circumstances. A friend and I were caught out in the Santa Barbara Channel in a small open boat during a small craft advisory - eight foot swells and a howling wind. We had to gun the boat up the face of a wave, then turn towards shore and gain a few precious yards before turning back into the next wave to keep from being swamped. For a brief period we were surrounded by dolphins. As we would blast up the face of a wave, they would be surfing down it. Here we were trying to stave off certain death, and they were having the time of their lives! It was then that I decided I wanted to come back as a dolphin in my next life!
