Stupid Gun news of the day (Part 1)

It was in the TV stand, how much more secure does it need to be?

I think that they learned their lesson, and the death of their child is punishment enough for their negligence in the death of their child.

/s, BTW

So here’s one that could actually be positive gun news of the day, if @MEBuckner wants to use it.

May be the case that these guns actually end up saving lives.

Here’s a video, but hard to understand:

I’m always the first one to come down hard on the cops, and that video was clearly edited down to 9 mins what must have actually been hours. But, from what I saw in that video that’s how police work should be done. That was some nice work.

When I used to ride my somewhat deer-colored horse during hunting season, I wore a blaze orange jacket, hung a bell on my tack, talked or sang loudly as I rode, kept to open ground, and stayed the hell out of the woods. If I rode outside at all, even in areas supposedly closed to hunters.

I have a blaze orange jacket with a random branch like pattern in black, bought from Cabelas hunting catalog because it looks wicked cool (I get lots of compliments on it from people), and there’s plenty of clothing out there that combines camo patterns with blaze orange if one really cares about safety and not just looking bad-ass.

Heh. My gf has “jingle bells” on a big leather horse collar thing for deer season. You hear her coming on horseback a mile away.

We wear fluorescent vests while hiking during deer and elk hunting season. We’d prefer not to be out during those times, but it tends to be beautiful hiking season. If it gets too cold, we go to the upland bird hunting grounds which are safer for hiking/biking: Their shotguns don’t have the range that the drunken Idaho redneck’s 30 ought six does. And yes, I’ve seen them drinking whiskey at 7 AM while riding their horses in to hunt.

From another article the toddler was his sister.

Guy shoots his wife in a domestic dispute. She lives. They take his gun away. A few months later they give it back. He shoots her again and kills her.

He’s a cop, and the first time he shot her he said he thought she had a cellphone in her hand, and they struggled for it. Guess this is one of the generic excuses they give cops when they shoot anybody.

A federal judge appointed by Dubya overturns California’s 30 year old ban on assault rifles, comparing them to Swiss Army knives,

This is a man to never ask to open a bottle for you.

Homer Simpson agrees with him.

We, he must be right, in that you can’t bring Swiss Army Knives aboard an airplane either.

Woman brandishes handgun in a Washington shopping mall because some kids are arguing. Link is to Twitter, I don’t know if you need a Twitter account to see it. Police determined the gun was not loaded; she was charged with displaying a firearm.

Weird news:

While a fatal robbery and the case of a 3-year-old boy who accidentally shot himself wouldn’t appear to be connected, authorities said Thursday the same gun was used in both, leading police to arrest the boy’s father for the robbery.

Nicholas Thomas has been charged with capital murder in the fatal shooting of 37-year-old Miguel Vasquez, who was killed in front of his daughter as the two walked out of a Dave & Buster’s restaurant on Easter Sunday, four days before Thomas’ son shot himself. The boy survived.

You would think that police officers would know about best gun safety procedures:

C’mon. With 23 posts in the controversial law enforcement thread I would think you would know better!
