From the cite,
{…} Critics of the bill say the 24 hours of gun training is too little, especially since police recruits in Ohio have to have at least 60 hours of firearms training. {…}
Also, why do I fear that 0 hours is included in a “maximum of 24 hours”?
Let me ask you a question: What do we do the first time a homicidal or suicidal maniac of a child grabs a gun from a teacher and uses it on someone else?
Not a problem. The grift is already in place. Wanna bet how many “firearms training schools” pop up in the next few weeks? All of them run by honest, God-fearing Republican campaign donors.
If that Crazed Psycho entered a room with a loaded gun Hell bent on shooting someone … and if a nine year old girl was on one side… and if Ken Paxton was on the other…
.
In retrospect, I just can’t finish that post as it might be interpreted as ‘wishing harm or death on someone’. The facts of the case and the aftermath make me very angry though. And very sad.
Quite frankly, whenever I see someone armed with a gun who isn’t a police officer, I get very nervous. I’m not even sanguine about seeing “Don’t Tread on Me” license plates, which are legion in Virginia. And I’m 40 years old. Granted, I’m in treatment for schizo-affective disorder, but do you think a 6-year-old is going to have the emotional maturity to handle seeing that every day?
Even though I know how to use a weapon, were I forced as a teacher to undergo this so-called training, I’d be all passive-aggressive. “Tell me again, which end do I point? These little things, what do you call them - bullets?, anyway they never run out, right? Like on TV!”
