Stupid Gun news of the day (Part 2)

33 years old–I was guessing he would be closer to 20.

The Shrine Of The Mall Ninja isn’t looking so funny any more.

So has Abbott put out a tweet highlighting how the shooter was an American citizen, a neo-nazi and a white supremacist?

Or has he just gone with the usual “thoughts and prayers” because the shooter is not an immigrant?

Abbott: “Texas has suffered another mass shooting, this time at the hands of a man whose name sounds really Mexican.”

And Louisiana proves, once again, that simply playing children’s games is a life or death matter*.

A 14-year-old was shot in the head as she played hide and seek, Louisiana deputies say. Now a neighbor is facing multiple charges.

David V. Doyle, 58, was arrested Sunday, May 7, after the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office said he opened fire on a group of kids playing on his property and “unknowingly hit the girl.”

Deputies were called about a shooting at a home in Starks early that morning, authorities wrote in a news release. They arrived to find a teen who was shot in the back of the head.

Several kids were playing in the area and used a neighbor’s property to hide, according to the sheriff’s office. The property owner, identified as Doyle, told deputies he went inside and grabbed his gun after he saw shadows outside his home, the release said.

Doyle said when he went back outside, he saw several people running from his property and opened fire.

As always, more at the link.

So, let me get this straight. The kids were just playing in his yard. They damaged nothing, vandalized nothing, took nothing, and harmed no-one. But, of course, that, in his mind, justified shooting a 14-year old girl in the back of the head.

*I’m referencing the killing of Yshihiro Hattori in Baton Rouge. Starks is 154 miles west of Baton Rouge.

I beat you to the bang.

I yield to your superior posting finger.

Even worse, a large percentage of the comments are taking his side. It appears that just trespassing warrants an immediate execution even when there’s no threat.

Apparently shooting first, and asking questions later, is totally cool with many. Is that how these people hunt for deer or ducks?

I’m no longer convinced they’re hunting for deer or ducks. Those poor critters are simply collateral damage for the adrenaline rush of firing a weapon. Or–and it’s a horrible consideration–they’re collateral damage for practicing hunting humans.

Deer and ducks don’t answer anyways. -

Halloween is going to be a bloodbath. Masked intruders, going door to door, demanding tribute and threatening vandalism.

And, worse yet, *ringing doorbells".

I don’t know about La. but in Va. you are not even legally trespassing unless you have been told orally or by signage that you are not permitted on the property.

I did some math and concluded that this year, so far, you have about a 1 in 410,000 chance of being shot to death by a random stranger seeking to shoot some people to death.

David V. Doyle. I find it ironic his name sounds like a court case.

Y’all remember the Michigan State University shooting a measly three months ago? I just got this in my twitter feed:

James Harden gives John Hao his shoes after hitting the game-winner in Game 4

Remember when (mostly) conservatives were complaining that kids spend too much indoors on electronics, instead of outside playing like when they were young?

Things like this should certainly encourage kids and their parents to put down the tablet.

Remember when conservatives were supposedly “tough” and not scared little babies that shoot at shadows or god forbid, someone ringing their doorbell? Conservative = COWARD

And yet they say WE are the fragile snowflakes for suing or writing letters to the editor.

But yeah what they mean by “being tough” is that they feel they are entitled to be feared and to have things their way by force.
