Now, I like to thing I’m pretty smart guy most of the time, but every once in a while my brain takes a vacation and I do something profoundly stupid.
I’m talking to a buddy, and while he’s talking I reach for the Listerine breath spray-thing I have in my pocket. I hold it up in front of my mouth and press down to spray some of it, but nothing comes out. This puzzles me, so I hold it up in front of my eye and push down again. Sure enough, this time it worked. Funny part was that I had the thought, “This won’t end well,” as I was pushing down, but it was too late to stop at that point. I also recall seeing my friend’s look of confusion as he watched me move the breath-freshener to eye-level. At least my vision was minty-fresh for the remainder of the evening.
Some other occasions of note:
-
Had the idea to make a mix-cd of fast-paced racing music to listen to in my car. Immediately after I had that thought I realized it was an astoundingly bad idea.
-
I often get tired while driving longer distances late at night and once thought, “Man, I bet if I had a setup that would accurately simulate me being in the driver’s seat, I would be able to fall asleep really easily at bedtime.” Yeah, THAT’S a great habit to get your body used to…
Anyone else feel like tossing their dignity by the wayside and sharing some of their less profound ideas?
