No kidding! There’s at least one Doper in the Chapel Hill / Carrboro area (well sort of, he’s a friend of mine IRL who has only posted about four times). When are you leaving, and would you be interested in meeting us for a mini-Dopefest before you go?

When you disable a piece of hardware in Windows 2000, a helpful box comes up saying:

So it’ll stop functioning if I disable it? Really?
It’s now somehow surprising that the opposite doesn’t happen when you install a new piece of hardware, e.g.

‘Installing this soundcard will make it possible for you to hear sounds. Do you really want to install it?’

Once I went past an old apartment building that was being demolished. Up in one the remaining windows, a sign said, ROOM FOR RENT.
