Leftists (presumably) at Google and Cloudflare are messing with the backbone of the internet in disturbing ways - Cloudflare is abandoning neutrality, and Google has tweaked its algorithm to “fight fake news” in ways which appear partisan. There are some things you just don’t do. I think the idea that these people have basically no effect on the world needs to be examined a little more closely.

I’m sure there are those in the tiny fringe that is Antifa who measure success by how many fascists they hurt. I’m also reasonably sure that they’re outnumbered by those in the Antifa whose goal is to stop fascists from hurting others. As noted elsewhere, neo-Nazis left alone will continue to foment hatred and discrimination; the Antifa left alone will sit at home and binge-watch GoT.

As for Google’s fake news thing, it just requires information to be verified by other sources, as far as I can find. How is that partisan? Both claims you made should be huge news, yet I am not finding them anywhere online.

This is an oversimplification at best. This was actually rehashed not that long ago, although I couldn’t remember where. And yeah, the forum has a real problem with iconoclasty for iconoclasty’s sake. There legitimately are a handful of people who are really racist, really sexist, and even really dumb. However, it’s not nearly as hard-right as you might assume. (Ironically, the best poster there goes by the username of “yodatsracist”. Fucking really. And if he posted here, he’d easily be in the top 10 posters on this site.)
I’m talking about this. Cloudflare is one of those “backbone of the internet”-style companies. We don’t want them taking sides. If their dedication to net neutrality doesn’t extend to the actual content they host, then it’s meaningless, as they are precisely the kind of service that one requires to be neutral. The Daily Stormer is a fucking atrocious website, but this sets a nasty precedent. For now, it’s just the most noxious of neo-nazi websites. But once you start going down that road, you have to start to worry - who’s next? Where’s the hard line here? There really isn’t one. 
It’s not that it IS partisan, it’s that it could appear partisan. Taking a moment to think about it, this is a silly complaint. But Alternet was not amused. That’s weird, right? Maybe I’m overreacting to this one, I dunno.
