Stupid Social Justice Warrior Bullshit O' the Day.

Besides, let’s all ask Germany how well it worked out in the 1930’s.

A little fringe group of loonies and malcontents to be ignored or laughed at, but then they took over and killed millions of people.

You could always start a great debate if you wish. The reason I am shitting on you is that I disagree with you and this is the forum where I am free to shit on you for disagreeing with me. If my own mother was posting in here, and I disagreed with her, I’d call her a dummy too (I hope you enjoy the irony of that statement). If you go to great debates with this topic I would be happy to be as polite as I am capable of.

I know you wish to learn and seek some evidence, but I don’t know how it isn’t obvious to you from simple experience as a person over the age of 1. It’s unbelievable actually. It’s simple, in the world we live in today, an unequivocal statement concerning the effect of sexism/patriarchy on sex biases is thoroughly justifiable. The evidence is obvious, it requires that you have lived for more than 1 hour on planet Earth, interacted with humans, are human and can understand what other humans say and do, and are capable of at least the slightest bit of reflection on one’s experiences without too much effort.

In either case, there were people making noise about the injustice of not recognizing gay marriage. That’s the point. I think I said something similar to you before. Every person’s concrete effort to move toward gay marriage in Australia, no matter how small, such as asking their ceremony fit with their beliefs, contributes positively toward the effort. Now if this couple you mentioned happens to think they did more than someone who went out and campaigned for years for gay marriage, then I would agree with you: they are a class of asswipe.

You really don’t know how the Nazis rose to power, do you? you’ll find that some of of the factors that led to that was that they capitalized on street violence between them, state forces, communists and anarchist and they were heavily suppressed by the government, Hitler wrote Mein Kampf in jail, in case you didn’t know.

Ever heard of the Beer Hall Putsch?

After being beaten, shot and killed they didn’t go away, instead they fetishized the blood spilled among that violence and used as propaganda.

So you know what? if instead of giving the Nazis the violence they wanted to gain power they would had been ignored and mocked history may had been different.

This is why policing is balanced by population.

Those who don’t know history, are bound to repeat it.
QED.

I’m not entirely sure what the point of this in The Atlantic is supposed to be, but I think the author is claiming the eclipse is racist.

No, the author is explicitly not claiming that:

Rather, the author is using the path of the eclipse as a framing device to explore the history of race and geography in various parts of America. One can reasonably disagree that the eclipse makes a useful device for looking at this issue – or with the author’s conclusions in general – but the article certainly doesn’t claim the eclipse is at fault for any of it, just that it coincidentally passes over areas where this history continues to shape who lives where.

Ah, good. I prefer to be reasonable.

I’d think that article was a hoax, if the author weren’t listed as a visiting professor on the Harvard Law School website.

I still like The Atlantic in general, but they publish some real turdcakes sometimes.

If the author had not mentioned the eclipse at all, and had simply published an article about how the history of racial discrimination shapes where people live in America today, would you still think this was a terrible article? Terrible enough to mistake it for a hoax?

This is only mild stupidity, more a poor choice of words than anything else, but stil funny:

Jeh Johnson says that taking down Confederate statues is a matter of “homeland security”. Obviously, Johnson was quite recently Homeland Security head and failed to notice this grave threat to homeland security.

Fair question. I suspect that such an article wouldn’t exist, or at least would not have appeared in The Atlantic, since “many places in the US are mostly white” and “a lot of bad things have been done to black people” are neither revelatory discoveries nor controversial positions— and without the awkward shoehorning into the eclipse event, her meandering observations about Bruce Springsteen and Eminem would seem bizarre rather than merely forced.

Well, if these statues are removed, then they are gone.

If they are gone, if they don’t exist anymore, we don’t have to fight to protect them anymore, cuz they’re gone.

Da Homeland iz securitied real good

Actually, in the short term the campaign to remove them makes terrorism a lot more likely. That’s why the “homeland security” argument is a bit dumb, and more importantly, unnecessary. We have other reasons to do it. Making us safer isn’t one of them. It’s more to put a halt to the ongoing insult to African-Americans that these monuments represent.

IOKWACDI. a

Announcer Robert Lee pulled from UVA game

Don’t know which Twitter joke I like most: “Congratulations to President Trump on his reelection” or “Bob Ley said to be scared”

Edit: This may be satire. If it is, it’s fairly good.

Do you really think ESPN is what you call “social justice warriors” or just doing it out of fear of the Nazis?

This thread long ago morphed into “Dumbass shit done in the name of ‘the left’”

And yes. ESPN are SJWs.

Perhaps they do it out of misguided, mind-boggling cowardice.

Wouldn’t be the first time an Asian was expected to pay for what white people did to black people.

No, ESPN is not a “social justice warrior”, but it is an example of stupid PCness, so it counts.

The jokes here are endless. So if an ESPN announcer says that the defense stood like a stone wall, will he get fired?
