I’m going to three consecutive baseball games starting tonight. I’ll be sure to make note of any other annoying trends I notice.
After I start the wave, that is. 
In Dallas, the NHL team is the Dallas Stars. During the National Anthem they yell it when the word comes up:
“… whose broad stripes and bright STARS!, through the …”
WTF?
“…Oh say does that STAR!!-spangled banner…”

See, I think that the wave has it’s place. There are strict rules that must be followed though:
- No earlier than the 7th inning
- Game must be out of hand (at least 4 runs)
- It must be a day game and at least 80 degrees out (preferable 90 plus)
The wave is a way for fans to overcome the fact that they are dying of heat stroke and they’ve stopped serving beer.
Now, those that try to start the wave in my section during a tie game… well, there is a special circle of hell just for them.

The tradition of the OU football fans to change the last line of the national anthem to “And the home of the SOONERS!” irks me to no end though.
I hate it when any team other than the phoenix coyotes has a fan “white out’”
:rolleyes: I don’t care for the wave either, but it’s part of baseball. Most people don’t go to a pro baseball game only to see the game. You get a much better seat in front of the tv. Going to a baseball game is fun because of the environment. You’re usually with friends. It’s usually a nice day out (or evening). The wave is just another example of people in a crowd having fun, what’s the big deal. I friend of mine would go to the Texas Rangers’ games and actually not allow their kid to participate in the wave because he didn’t like. To that I give a double :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

I’m from Oklahoma. I grew up there. I’ve been to countless sooners games in all sports, and I don’t think I’ve ever heard that. 
I also really hate the trend of teams having third “alternate” jerseys. The almost universally look terrible.
Maybe it’s newer, but pretty prevalent.
