Also, it took a minute for it to hit me that apparently Trump thinks a year in jail and loss of citizenship are roughly equivalent punishments. That’s a bit disconcerting.
Technically capital punishment comes with it loss of citizenship.
But, yeah, a natural born citizen cannot have their citizenship taken away. (Or a naturalized citizen, unless the were fraudulent in the naturalization process.)
How about a penalty for humping it?

Actually that’s a good point, I have participated in quite a number of flag burnings back in my boy scout days. Do I lose my citizenship for that?
If there is legislation proposed to ban flag burning, I hope that they add a part to it to forbid the display of the confederate flag in any form whatsoever. No pins, stickers, replicas, clothing, hats… the lot. Banned completely.
