Stuttering songs

“My Generation” by the Who and “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet” by Bachman-Turner Overdrive are pop songs with prominently feature stuttering. Are there any other famous songs where stuttering is a notable part of the vocal performance?

Ch-ch-ch-changes…[/David Bowie]

Scatman by Scatman John.

Bad To The Bone by George Thorogood

My Sharona by The Knack

Surfin’ Bird by The Trashmen (and Pee Wee Herman)
Psycho Killer by The Talking Heads
Boom (Shake the Room) by The Fresh Prince (I can’t believe I mentioned that one)

Would Nineteen by Paul Hardcastle count? Or is that more a result of that rap-style turntable skipping effect?

OK, how about Welcome to the Jungle.

K-k-k-Katy:

(Note to mods – the song dates from 1918, which puts the lyrics squarely in the public domain.)

B-b-b-baby… I think I’m going c-c-c-crazy

Benny and Jets and

Elton John and Phil Collins respectively.

Would “Anthony’s Song (Movin’ Out)” by Billy Joel count?

Foolin’ - Def Leppard

Pete reprises Mm-mm-my generation… in “5:15”.

Wrong on two counts: it’s Roger, and the song is “The Punk and the Godfather.”

Wrong on two counts, (but right on one)

1)Pete wrote the music and the lyrics. Roger just sings what Townshend wrote.

2)If you will, cue up “5:15” about 1:18 into the song.

3)You’re right about “The Punk and the Godfather.”

Cheers.

David Watts by the Kinks.

I think my band’s going to have to do a cover of this song.

“Movin’ Out” by Billy Joel: “Working too hard can give you a heart attack-ack-ack…”

I remember a German Volkslied that was absolutely hilarious and was a stuttering song. I’m not sure of the details but I think it was called Der Stotterer (The Stutterer). I wish I could remember the details :smack: .

It was Beer Hall musik, fer sure.

Somewhat dated, but I thought it might be appropriate to post this.
