If I were a consultant for the Coalition, I’d advise them to stick to Tony Blair, Ari Fleicher, and Donald Rumsfield. Wheel out Bush only when absolutely positively necessary.
Lose all the old grumpy generals, especially Tommy Franks. (And WTF is with his bomber-wing-sized shirt collar and stars. Is he in some Sid Ceasar sketch?) Lose the younger military spokespersons, too – they are simply not well-spoken or nimble on their feet.
And absolutely, positively can that Julie Whatshername (the one who wore the wild-colored jacket last week). She comes off as nothing but a sour, whiney, pissed-off, resentful jerk. She is hurting her cause more than she’s helping it whenever she opens her mouth.
