I know you as far as the posts in this thread can show. So far, it’s shown you to be very unwilling to hold an actual DEBATE about this topic, and you choose instead to make petty, over-used jokes. At least try to find some NEW material, okay?
SPOOFE, I’ve posted in a lot more than just this one thread, and I said above (again and again) that I never intended this thread to be any more than pointless. I’ve apologized for thoughtlessly starting it in the wrong forum–for starting it in the first place when it was just meant to be an add-on to an existing thread. If I had given it a moment of thought and realized that to do it as I did was to take the burden of supporting the debate away from the OP of the “Subliminable” thread and placing it on my own shoulders, I would have slapped myself on the forehead and taken it to MPSIMS. I have asked, twice, to have a moderator move it there.
You want a debate, start one yourself. But don’t sit there and be patronizing and dismissive of me for making one minor mistake on this board, which has snowballed under its own power into this big stinking mess that you want to keep rolling.
To judge me on the content of my posts to one single thread–a thread I have repeatedly explained was meant as no more than a toss off, and repeatedly apologized for–one thread out of 250 different threads I have posted to–is just childish petty bullshit, and I won’t rise to your bait and defend my character to you.
And I will say again: Bush is the lowest-quality candidate ever produced by the Republican party, and they should be ashamed for trying to sell him as presidential material. Even so, Gore is probably the least like my ideal candidate of any Democratic candidate I can think of, for all the reasons cited so many times in this and other threads. But I am vehemently anti-death penalty, pro-choice, and pro-environment, and as a gay man I am horrified at the prospect of a single conservative justice being added to the Supreme court. So if the Republicans have nothing better to offer than a man whose record on all counts is utterly, utterly unacceptable to me, I would vote Democratic if they were running Michael Jackson for president. I’m willing to debate the death penalty, abortion, the environment, or gay politics (and many, many other issues: 250 and counting), but as it’s unequivocally clear where Bush stands on those matters, it’s a waste of time, as far as I’m concerned, to debate about him.
So once again, I apologize for unthinkingly perpetrating a troll: I only meant to laugh at a man who makes himself very easy to laugh at, and made the simple, small mistake of doing it in the wrong forum. Period.
