Hep C is a SOB. You’ve beaten it into remission before, Ayesha, you can do it again.
Reading this thread put some crap into prespective for me. I may not have my taxes done, I may be 6 weeks behind in my stats class, work may suck, I may have minor health problems, but I am (to the best of my knowledge) disease-free. If I can barely handle my life as it is, imagine how much in awe I am of you, who is dealing with so much more!
While virtual people can’t reach out and give you a giant IRL hug, we’re here for you. You don’t know how strong you are, hon.
A little persistance goes a long way. Announcing:
“I go on guilt trips a couple of time a year. Mom books them for me.” A custom made Wally .sig!
Hep is a bitch to have, so just show it you are the alpha. Get well, and look at the bright side…you don’t have to worry about any guys knocking on you door and asking ‘Can we have your liver?’
>>Being Chaotic Evil means never having to say your sorry…unless the other guy is bigger than you.<<
It’s not just piercings, tattoos, and drugs that are risky. You can get it from dental equipment. Or medical equipment. Any instrument that comes in contact with blood can put you at risk.
As far as piercing goes, was it a gun style piercing? Those are the worst. They can’t be sterilized at all. Blood from anyone and everyone that the gun has been used on can get into your system with those. My mom has hep C, and a young woman in her support group most likely got hep C from a piercing gun when she was one year old.
The safest way to get pierced is with a sterile needle that has never been used before and is thrown away after.
