Suck it Buffalo Bills coach!!!

First of all, fuck alla y’all who are saying fuck the Cowboys. You can go lick the crud off of TO’s cleats.

Second of all … damn, OP, I’m a Cowboys fan but not that rabid of a fan. As others have said, it’s called “icing the kicker” and this is hardly the first time it’s been done. The split-second-just-before-the-kick timing sucks, but it happens. I’ve also seen coaches miss that split-second timing and miss their time out getting called altogether, so I guess it evens out.

So, an even “meh” to this whole thread.

Well, OK, I guess I have to admit that is a good point.

I wholeheartedly agree here, and it has nothing to do with last night’s game. I has more to do with the fact that I’ve been annoyed for years at all the numerous ways this game gets delayed, particularly in the final “minutes”. I think the NFL needs to work on ways to speed up play, not let it drag out more and more and more …

They have to change the rule so that you cannot ice the kicker after the ball is signalled ready for play. It’s ridiculous to make a kicker hit a 53 yarder twice, back to back. And what if the Bills had had three time outs and iced him thrice? He would have had to kick four 50 yarders in a span of two mintues- that’s got to be a strain on the leg of even the most seasoned kicker- can you imagine him missing by thirty yards on the fourth try because of leg tiredness? Is that what the NFL wants?

I must say, not being a Cowboys fan, I was really happy for Romo. He is a genuinely nice, polite and respectful kid with a great attitude, and a loss like this
on national TV could have crushed him, especially if the Pats crush him next week.

Timeouts in TV games are getting ridiculous enough as it is. My personal fave is the commercial break after a TD, followed by the kickoff, follwed immediately by another break- one play in a ten minute span

I’m a Cowboys fan and that was the second game with crappy officiating I’ve seen with them this year, though not all of it in the Bill’s favor. The ‘spike’ by TO was rediculous and the no-call of him being pushed out of bounds was bad while the Bill’s got a measly 5 yard facemask on a play with a horsecollar and a helmet to helmet collision by the Dallas defense. Christ, make the zebras full time already. And assign the better squads to the nationally boradcast games.

There’s a five yard penalty for calling back to back time outs (by the same team).

This was not a normal example of icing the kicker. Traditionally time outs are called on the field by players to ice the kicker. It may happen after the players are already lined up but the other team can still see it called before they actually run the play. A new rule now allows coaches to signal for time outs from the sideline and even to tell an official in advance that he’s going to want a time out when the play clock gets down to a certain point. This time out from the sidelines bullshit is NOT a tradition because coaches have only been allowed to call time outs from the sidelines since 2004. It absolutely IS new to pull this shit and just because it’s legal doesn’t mean it’s not a douche move.

I forgot about those other two bullshit calls on T.O. The spike call was really ridiculous. All he did was toss the ball to the side. That call was what made me think they were just out to fuck Owens no matter what.

Ignorance fought

I think the pushout no call on T.O. was more egregious- he was pushed and his second foot was only out by a few inches. But Jesus he dropped a lot of balls he should have caught, again.

Now there’s an idea… if you got to douche the kicker right before he kicks, that’s a strategy that has some merit. I think that’d be much better received that the chicken shit last second timeout.

“We?”

What position do YOU play, Heisman?
Fuck the Cowboys.

The Heisman is a college award, this is the big leagues.

In as much as cheating is a “legitimate tactic”. It’s a loophole. It’s poor sportsmanship.

Fuck Jauron and every other coach who mis-uses that privilege.

Go Cowboys! WooHoo.

Doesn’t matter. He doesn’t play. It’s one of my pet peeves as well.

Good point. The NFL does not need a rule change to stop the activity if the league just announces that “icing” time outs will result in an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. Can they do that?

That would effectively be a rule change, whatever it happened to be called.

I know what the Heisman is.

See, what makes the joke funny is that I called him by a name that is not his own- it is the name of a famous football person. Thus, I highlight the difference between him and ACTUAL football people, which shows my derision for people who identify teams of which they are a fan as “we.”
Is there anything else you would like me to explain to you?

The non-call on both the horse collar and the helmet to helmt hit, out of bounds no less, was the worst call or non-call of the game.

So? Teams often thank their fans, especially the ‘12th man’ for helping them win. Too much panty bunching, I think.

never mind, i was too late…

Yeah, why couldn’t you use a funny joke? See the stupid thing is you are using the name of someone who never actually played pro football to deride someone for not playing pro football.
