Sugary Drink Battle Royale Redux!!!!

Is it weird that I first read “birch beer” as “bitch beer”?

Also, I chose Dr. Pepper, but I’m beginning to think I should’ve chosen “other,” since I’m pretty sure my favorite soda is Fufu Berry Jones Soda.

I voted for Coke again! Coke is my all-time favourite, I would happily drink it instead of water all the time if it weren’t so horrible for me/my teeth. I never get sick of it, never think it’s too sweet, etc.

But I do love birch beer or a good root beer. I treat birch and root beer as treats when I get them, and drink them very slowly to savour them.

Ginger ale is also awesome.

Yeah, I got that. I just think that coke vs. diet coke are more different than coke vs. pepsi. Anyway, RC needed the votes.

What the hell? The Doctor is in third? Behind Coca-Cola and Mountain fucking Dew? People actually drink Mountain Dew still? Coke I can understand, but Mountain Dew? Seriously? It’s like breaking my mind trying to comprehend this horrible turn of events.

Faygo Red Pop of course.

Oh my gosh…I picked Pepsi. Really. But it’s complicated. I like Diet Pepsi more than Diet Coke, and Coke Zero better than either, but I like 12 oz. bottles because cans at work make me nervous so I drink more Diet Pepsi than any other soda. My favorite sugary drink is tropical punch Kool Aid, which my mom calls “the house wine” when she visits.

The absence of diet varieties on the poll didn’t surprise me because the thread title specifies “sugary drinks”.

I’ll have to give that a try. Allow me to recommend Coke and orange soda mixed 1:1.

I had to stop drinking Dew. And coffee. But Dew is still what I want to drink, but grapefruit Izze is as close as I let myself get. I keep my caffine intake limited to diet colas because diet colas are nasty.

Doin’ the Dew. If Arizona green tea had been in the poll I woulda gone with that, though.

Splitting the vote–I’m one of those who jumped ship from the good Doctor to ginger ale. A good, spicy, glass bottle ginger ale trumps all, but for normal fountain-soda drinking, it’s Dr. Pepper every time.
Come to think of it though, we don’t keep it in the house. We keep Coke and Sprite around for occasional soda drinking or to offer guests. Coke is the perfect mixer for most things too. My guess is that those folks who tend to prefer alternative sodas, Dr. Pepper is the fountain soda of choice. Give us the option though and it’s ginger or birch beer above all.

PS: Pepsi is characterless swill.

This ladies and gentlemen, is how you get on my good side after saying you prefer something else over Dr Pepper.

If you get your Mountain Dew from Canada, it will be caffeine free.

I haven’t watched television in a few years, but we own several seasons of the Simpsons, and my daughter has identified the family based on the Simpsons. Never heard of crab juice. I figured it was some takeoff on clamato, but I am still in the dark.

Never heard of faygo, where is that popular?

At work we have a Birch conference room. It is where all the women go to eat lunch. I always think it says Bitch room.

Oh, and I didn’t google for the reason that I didn’t expect it to clear things up. It didn’t, much. I asked, 'cause I wanted to hear from the Dope.

It’s from the episode where the family goes to NYC to retrieve Homer’s car after Barney got super drunk and apparently illegally parked it in the city.

Homer is offered some klaukalash and he desires something to wash it down with. The vendor guy only has Mountain Dew and crab juice. After some horribly dramatic groaning and such, Homer opts for the crab juice.

Faygo is manufactured in Detroit as far as I know. So surrounding areas will likely have it and I believe places in Arizona get shipments of it. Can’t comment on other large cities in the southwest like L.A. or Vegas on the availability of Faygo.

Crab juice is my close second.

My real answer is Dr. Pepper but I could not refuse the temptation to pick Crab Juice.

Adirondack Diet Black Cherry

Diet Mountain Dew is a real treat - especially if its Code Red.

+1 vote for Mountain Dew.

Here, I’ll go for an ice cold IBC root beer any day. Back home in Kentucky, however, it would have been an Ale-8-One, which is a fantastic caffienated ginger ale.

BTW, I’m in Mississippi, and we have Faygo in the stores here. I remember it being available in Kentucky as well.

I prefer Coke Zero but Kroger has a store brand called OH cola that tastes almost exactly the same at half the price.

Isn’t that, by definition, disqualified from a list of sugary stuff?
