Suggest A Song

Ok, can you people recommend a song by The Who other than (only Who song I’ve ever heard) Teenage Wasteland? Or a song by anyone else who sounds like this… it’s a damn sweet song!

Hey! You’ve only heard one Who song? There’s so much good stuff out there, I don’t even know where to start. First off, the name of the song that you were talking about is “Baba O’Riley”.
I don’t know why it’s called that, though. The title seems to have practically nothing to do with the song. If you liked that one, then you’ll probably like “Won’t Get Fooled Again” and “Who Are You”. These are basically in the same style as “Baba O’Riley”. For what it’s worth, though, my favorite is “Behind Blue Eyes.” It’s much mellower than the others I’ve suggested, though. Happy Listening!

My favorite Who song is “You Better You Bet”.

People try to put us d-down (Talkin’ ‘bout my generation)
Just because we get around (Talkin’ ‘bout my generation)
Things they do look awful c-c-cold (Talkin’ ‘bout my generation)
I hope I die before I get old (Talkin’ 'bout my generation)

So… My Generation. Great Who song.

Pinball Wizard (dur)
Pictures of Lilies
Bargain

they’re early stuff is way better than they’re later stuff, when they became all stadium rock.

best who songs:

can’t explain
my generation
pictures of lily

The Kids Are Alright (also the name of a great documentary of the Who)
Long Live Rock
Substitute
Pure and Easy (first on a Pete Townsend solo record)

My favorite is “Eminence Front”.

Young Man Blues
Summertime Blues
We’re Not Gonna Take It
Sparks
Eyesight To The Blind (The Hawker)

What? No one is going to suggest Borris the Spider? Behind Blue Eyes is my favorite, to tell the truth.

Okay, MyFootsZZZ, your project, if you choose to accept it:

  1. Go out and buy a copy of Who’s Next, the album with “Baba O’Riley,” “Behind Blue Eyes,” and “Won’t Get Fooled Again.”

  2. Go out and buy a copy of Live at Leeds, but make sure it’s the full version (starts with “Heaven and Hell” not “Young Man Blues”) Best…Live…Album…Ever.

  3. I’m new here, but apparently you need to say “hi” to Opal(?)

I’ll second the recommendation for Bargain and add a few of my own. I’m Free and Won’t Get Fooled Again are probably my favorites of their popular stuff. A lesser-known one that I really like is The Dirty Jobs.

THANK YOU ALL
