Suggest a video game for a 6 year old girl

My 6 year old daughter recently finished the Disney Enchanted Journey game on the Wii and the Merida game on her Leap Pad. I’m looking for games for either of these platforms that have similar elements–problem solving driven by a light narrative, not too coordination-intensive. The Merida game has some learning elements too but that’s not a necessary element.

For comparison, we also have Sims Kingdom which is a bit complicated and motor-skills driven for her, and an ocean diving game, can’t think of the name, which she likes but the controls are a bit hard and the narrative is too loose to engage her.

Every single game starring Mario. You’re welcome.

Kirby’s Epic Yarn - cute, infinite lives, controls are not challenging

Minecraft?

Animal Crossing.

Not sure I necessarily echo the Mario recommendation, as much as I am a huge fan of the series, because you stated “not coordination-intensive”. Mario 1 and Mario 3, I don’t think, qualify. (Mario 3 is pretty easy for me nowadays, but I’ve been playing it pretty regularly since it first came out).

Hm, maybe a Final Fantasy game? Are there any of those available for Wii?

Toy Story 3. Geared toward younger players, the platform levels get easier with each mistake.

bejeweled.

edit: I like to play on the untimed - I think they call it ‘zen’ level - but there other modes of play too.

I’d recommend TheWitcher 2, which 6 year old girl doesn’t want to live in a fairytale

World of Goo?

I was 7 the first time I played Super Mario Bros. I picked up the coordination necessary to play it real fast.

Again, Mario games, get them now. Load up the Wii online store and get the classic Mario games too.

All of the Lego games are fun and age-appropriate (my 8-year-old especially loves Lego Star Wars III). Plus, you can play along with her.

Thanks for these suggestions! I appreciate all your help.
