Hey gang. I am going to Costa Rica on a mission trip Thursday. One of our traditions is trading songs with the locals in the evening. There are a few very talented folks we stay with.
Guitar and voice only. The songs tend to tell stories or be "folk"y.
So far all that comes to mind is “This Land is Your Land”. Suggestions?
(FWIW I am an “adequate” player/singer.)
This might be a really fun site to check out. Anyway, the idea of trading songs like that is so very cool…
Yeah it is something I really look forward to. There is one about a man in a poor village praying for a mountain of bread, so he can feed everyone. Amazing to hear.
No doubt. I love the universal nature of singing together too. The fact that people from completely different places, backgrounds, etc can gather together and sing and create something beautiful really is an awesome thing to experience. I have to admit, in that respect, I’m a little jealous of your upcoming trip.
Do you know the way to San Jose?
