I recently decided to renew my paid membership but found it difficult to do so. I humbly suggest that the process be made glaringly obvious.
In the ATMB sticky “SDMB registration agreement”, I found this: For more information about subscriptions, click on the “Subscribe” link in the menu bar at the top of most SDMB pages after you register.
I do not see a “Subscribe” link anywhere.
I was unable to find instructions for becoming a paid member in the FAQs sticky or under the FAQ or Quick Links pull downs.
There is a “Paid Subscriptions” link way down at the bottom of the choices listed on my User CP page, which is what I used once I found it.
Suggestions:
Add a “Paid Subscription” link in the menu bar at the top of pages (as stated in the registration agreement sticky).
Add “Paid Subscription” links to the FAQ and Quick Links pull downs.
Add a “Paid Subscription” link in the FAQ sticky.
Ensure that searching for subscribe or membership returns a link to the “Paid Subscription” process.
I oppose the idea. If suscribing becomes too easy, it will devaluate the value of membership.
I’m of the opinion that any new suscriber should first provide an IQ test scoring above 140, run a half marathon and show his competence in a tea ceremony.
I had the same problem and posted my question here in ATMB. I got an answer quickly but I guess none of the mods or admins read it. I’m glad Tuba has seen it this time and will pass it up the line. It shouldn’t be so hard to find out how to do this.
In the meantime, I think if you go to UserCP, you’ll find what you need. At least I think that’s how I did it.
