I’m going to be responding to a job listing which requires me to paste my resume into the body of an email. No attachments are permitted. I’ve done this before with mixed results; and I have several text-only variants of my resume that I have created over the years, but I just can’t help thinking I’m not doing it as well as I could. Does anybody have any tips or tricks that will help make my resume stand out (in a good way)?
To ease formatting problems, use a fixed-pitch font and print your dolled-up resume to a text file and copy it from there. Make sure that the width is no more than 70 characters - possibly even 65 - to avoid word-wrap issues.
