I am visiting a friend next week at their house on the beach, and due to me flying out there with a baby I’m sending myself an Amazon Prime order with a few baby supplies .
It occurred to me I can add in something for my friend’s kids too. So, does anyone want to suggest some generally popular items for a quiet 3.5 year old boy, or a lively 7 year old girl who dances and likes pink? These are just supposed to be little “just because” gifts, so maybe under $25 or so (not a fixed limit, just don’t want to do anything too elaborate). And eligible for Prime on Amazon
We will be at the beach, so summertime stuff would be nice but not necessary. “Consumables” would be great - ie, stickers, bubble toys, etc. They are driving home so they have some room, but I’m sure Mom and Dad don’t want more “stuff” to deal with. Items could be left behind for next summer.
Order goes out this afternoon but I can always do another one tomorrow!
This may be a little too expensive for what you’re thinking (though checking Amazon, it’s on sale for $23!), but you mentioning stickers reminded me of Colorforms. Judging by the age range, it could actually work for both of them, especially a quiet 3 year old. Plus, they’re not bulky and provide hours of entertainment.
No that is not too much, thank you! Especially for a family gift. We don’t normally exchange gifts so I just don’t want to show up with, you know, $100 worth of new toys when it’s not their birthdays or Christmas.
What’s the situation? Do they have a pool or just the beach? Do they have a yard or just the beach?
Cuz blow-up pool toys (floats, games) and yard toys (sprinklers, slip 'n slide, even a little blow-up pool) are fun and inexpensive and can be left behind. If they don’t break before next summer. I woulda been exstatic to get a new pool toy as a kid who went to the pool every day!
But, pool toys aren’t really ocean material. And yard toys aren’t really “my backyard is sand” material. So they wouldn’t work in the wrong circumstances.
Good point, that does make a difference. There is a backyard but too small for serious running around, if we’re outside for an extended period of time it will be at the public beach. Or the beach playground, out getting ice cream, etc.
It’s Jersey Shore btw.
Fancy hats/visors, sunglasses and flip-flops might be fun. I bet they see a lot of stuff like that on the pier but it’s too expensive to buy on vacation. And all manner of glow sticks and glow stuff for at night.
