**Sari **the thing is all homes / buildings are in decay, you can just live with it and not even notice most of the time. The report catalogs all the issues so you are aware of them, and maybe give you a chance to haggle if so inclined. But mostly CYA.
Tomorrow is the last of my vacation, then back to work on Wednesday. I am both looking forward to it and not. It’s been very nice to have the kids for an extended break, but I am also looking forward to the return of routine.
Do not use an apostrophe for ‘lettuce’ when making salad (use croutons instead).
Lots of BS words associated with summer:
[ul]
[li]bikes[/li][li]balloons - flights & festivals [/li][li]beer - it goes down so much easier when it’s hot out[/li][li]BBQ - well, at least the grill[/li][li]Shorts[/li][li][del]socks[/del][/li][li][del]shoes[/del][/li][li][del]sleep[/del] - see ‘balloons’[/li][li]Shore - but then we go down Jan 1st, so it’s also a winter thing.[/li][/ul]
You don’t use the apostrophe with piglets, unless they’ve been very, very bad and it’s all the piglets’ fault. Then you act like a ninja and use your pork chop.
Are you me? That’s one of the reasons I’m never coming out of these mountains: it’s August, in the middle of the doldrums, and it was chilly enough that I had to wear *jeans *this morning. Current temperature is 77 American.
Never coming out of these mountains.
I have irk one day tomorrow and then I’m on vacation.
Growing up where the glaciers left a lot of water-filled holes in the ground, hanging out at one of many lakes was a given. For several years, we set up our camper at one of the lakes and Mom and us kids would stay there all the time while Dad commuted to work from the campground. We lived about 1.5 miles from one lake, both sets of grandparents, a couple of uncles and our godparents all had lake places. Swimming out to the raft was a rite of passage.
We always had summer school (my folks were teachers and we got hauled along for the ride, so as not to be left unattended). Other than summer school, there were free range heathenism in the neighborhood, swimming in da pool at da school, and (oh lordie) the month long car camping trip in the station wagon every August. Yes, I have been to all 50 states. No we did not drive to Hawaii, wise ass.
MIL arrives tonight to provide full time aide for Sunny-son while we haggle with district. school starts on Thursday. We’re still working on getting his new IEP in place.
Seeing’ as the parents had a zoo and all, summer was always busy busy time, and as we lived in a touristy area, on the rare occasions they did get time off, half of it would be spent stuck behind some eejit with a caravan who wasn’t used to single track roads. If you got really lucky, you’d get some forrin tourists who’d forgotten than we drive on the left as well.
Once I could drive, I started getting up at 4am so I could go out for a walk and be back before the roads got busy. Saw far more wildlife around then as well.
Summer now means juggling conventions, eatin’ home growed food, and getting overheated. Even this climate can get too hot for me, I’m that bad at dealing with heat.
It doesn’t feel that hot outside but the deck was hot on my poor bare feet. Even hotter is the wrought iron patio furniture that burned my ass. Sah-dog got a good ear cleaning, I like to take him outside for that. Now he looks happier.
I love it when there’s nobody here, I get so much more done when I can walk in and out of my room freely without having to worry about closing the door or the hounds from hell.
I can;t get a hold of the realtor to talk about what I want. Thanks FCM and** 2Gig** for putting it into perspective. The inspector wouldn’t be doing his job if he didn’t find something.
My yarn has been delivered a day before it was promised, and FCD’s new phone showed up also - 2 days early! Yay!
Towels are in, folded, and put away. Supper is started - parmesan crusted poke chops and N.O.T.s-n-onions are in the oven. In addition, we’ll have Amish 'maters and Amish 'lope chunks. Very healthy meal. Yum.
