Summer Fun in the MMP!!

Spaz I suppose one could order a yam or two on line if one is so inclined. Why one would be so inclined I haven’t the faintest clue.

flytrap sounds to me like that ice cream truck could use a box of pointy stick wieldin’ Sri Lankan ninja paratrooper spiders.

Dindin has been ingested. My sinuses are achey (achy?). No rain yet. GRRRRRR

Supper was OK, tho the N.O.T.s didn’t come out very good - not sure why. FCD is messing with his new phone. I think I’ll go do some afghaning.

MWAH!

When we lived in Michigan, especially in Manistee, while I was in elementary school, summer always meant we would spend a good deal of the day at the beach, taking a picnic-type lunch. I learned to swim in Lake Michigan! When we weren’t in the water, we were building sand castles or searching out what is called “sea glass,” bits and pieces of glass that has been rubbed by the water over time, some of them looked like little jewels to us. LOL I think mostly sea glass is created in salt water, but we would find a lot of it in the fresh water of Lake Michigan. We also used to look for petosky stones, which were really fossils.

I always looked forward to the parades and fireworks on the 4th of July. In Manistee, there was a band from one of the nearby towns, the Scottsville Clown Band - they were all good musicians, but they dressed up in clown outfits. I guess this is why I’ve never been afraid of clowns, because they were so joke-y! LOL The drum major carried a toilet plunger! We would always have sparklers that we would light at dusk, but nothing more beyond that, other than the fireworks the town put on, which were pretty terrific in my eyes.

Thanks, FCM, for helping me to recall some very fond childhood memories!

I read that as “My **yam **has been delivered” at first and I was very confused.

Could be worse. A friend has been receiving arts and crafts herpes in wholesale lots. No illness or disease, but glitter in ten-pound quantities. Multiple colors and types, no less, ten pounds of each. I can’t even comprehend how large ten pounds of glitter is, but I feel sorry for her UPS guy as I’m sure there’s some leakage in transit.

herbs, you just reminded me of our summer trips to Michigan. Petosky stones, smelt fries and concerts at Interlochen.

No, no, I am not vindictive, and a rather easy person to get along with, truly.

But those little bastards at the day care, and the water buffaloes who scream at them ALL FUCKING DAY LONG…
Sorry.
Carry on.

Worked, drove through the rain. Beer, then bed
Also: RIP, Robin Williams. :frowning:

“Whatever floats toyr goat”?

Amazon carries everything!

Let’s see. Let’s try that. Let’s go.

She lets me wear the flying helmet on Tuesdays.

Okay, I think I’ve got it.

Still page one? Clearly everyone is off having summer fun!

Up too early and will be going back to bed.
Can’t blame the dog tonight, he’s totally zonked out snoring away.

I’m shocked about Robin Williams, never expected him to go so soon

W00T! 1st on 2nd!

Up, caffeinated, off to work in a bit.

Blurf. Busy day yesterday considering it’s summer and there’s almost nobody around in the world of academia. It is exam results day on Thursday so soon after that I’ll have a better idea of how many students we’ll get for next year and what variety of programmes they’ll be studying. My year recruits to 24 programmes of different sorts so I need to make up a bunch of separate welcome letters for them but no point doing that until I know whether they’re all being used this time. Excitement awaits…

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN 'Tis 73 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 91 for the day. The weather PTB also say rain, but it ain’t happened yet, so I no longer believe 'em. So There weather PTB! :stuck_out_tongue:

First headline I saw this mornin’ was about Robin Williams. WOW! That was hard for my pre-caffienated brain to wrap around. So sad! :frowning:

Herbs an evil clown band!

Ok, that’s all I got for now. Need more caffiene and rumbly tummy wants sustenance. Then alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Le Sigh.

Happy Tuesday Y’all!

giggity, your news crew robbery made Dave Barry’s Blog!

Greetings on a soggy Southern Merrylande morning! The ground is wet and there’s an 80% chance of more thru the day and into the night. Yay!!

**gotti **- TEN POUNDS OF GLITTER??? I can’t even imagine! I have a mental image of hoards of preschoolers covered in the stuff, tracking it on carpets with wild and reckless abandon! Dang!

**tarra **- I’ve never been to Lake Michigan, but my spousal unit grew up in Detroit and his family camped all over the state. He said the Great Lakes are always cold - are you part polar bear??

Anyway, today’s rain means I’ll probably spend most of the day indoors - maybe some claying and some stenciling. After stenciling, I should probably put all those supplies away. Right now, it’s all sitting on the dining room table. If I leave them for **FCD **to put away while I’m gone, I’ll never find them! So I’ll do one crab tote bag and one black-eyed susan tote bag, then stash my stuff till I return.

I was just thinking this morning - I’ll have the better part of 4 weeks with no dog or cat to disturb my slumber - what a concept. On the other hand, my sister tells me my mother snores like a buzz saw - we’ll see how that works out. None of our scheduled tours start before 8:30, many are late morning or early afternoon tours, so much sleeping in may occur. Altho we may not need it because we’re not likely to be hanging in the casino or disco all hours of the night. Ah, sleep…

And Happy Tuesday to all!!

Getting down to it…the last week before school starts. The last few weeks have been long days, too many deadlines, too much to do AND breaking in a new superintendent all at once.

Oy.

Morni… uhh… afternoon all!

Summer appears to have ended here, we’ve had rotten wind and heavy rain for a few days now, with just a few gaps in the cloud for the sun to peep through. It does save me having to water the plants at the allotment, but we’re starting to get flooding, and there’s outside things I need to do. Hope it’ll stop soon.

Hopefully got an interview at a hairdresser company, as an admin for their online sales section. If I get it, it comes with free haircuts- I’ve not even had a trim in 15 years, I wonder what they’ll think

I might bottle some wine today, or, if there’s a big enough gap In the rain, I might start off some more blackberry booze, it’s looking like a great blackberrying year.

I have two “bullets” for a confetti gun. Just think how spectacular the mess would be if it was glitter instead of 1½" long pieces of shimmery paper!

**Spidey **- someone would be finding that glitter 200 years from now!!

**Nut **- kindly get the weather in order before I arrive later this month. My mother and I would appreciate it muchly!

I just finished cleaning my dirty old Reeboks with a Magic Eraser. They’re WHITE again!!! Yay! Unfortunately, now I have to put the laces back in - I’m none too fond of that chore…

Hey - where’s the bear? How can I start my day if I don’t know the weather in Jawja???
