Happy Toosday!
or should be happy big ol’ blurf day
I finally got back to sleep after I woke up, the dog woke up and needed to go out, and then had to do his little bedtime dance of shifting his bed around the room.
He finally decided to sleep between my bed and the desk positioned in such a way that I couldn’t step over him. When I woke up him to get out of my way I startled him so bad he jumped up and banged his head into my desk.
We had lots of rain last night and looks to be a rainy day. It’s supposed to get up to 78, what happened to August?
Today is laundry day and grocery delivery day.
I have some papers to print, sign, scan and email since I didn’t get any of that done yesterday.
I have a couple of confetti guns with some bullets at home, but we stopped using them when the wedding shop went bust and we couldn’t get the stuff any more. The next wedding we went to, we had to upgrade to a cannon instead.
MOOOOOOM I posted at 6:06 A.M. I know it’s hard for you old folk, but do try to keep up.
No rain. Matter of fact it’s hawt out! Stoopid weather PTB.
Also, I have been callin’ some folks to remind ‘em to get their dang timesheets in NOW if’n they want to be paid on Firday. They were supposed to be in last Firday. SHEESH! Must be nice to not have to worry about gettin’ paid.
I think I need to avoid FB for a bit.
I had to block a bunch of stuff yesterday, something I very seldom do.
Not the person but almost every site she shares from.
Normally I’m ok with my friends thinking differently than I do, but one of my friends posted something today that just makes me want to reach through the computer and knock the shit out of him. Maybe if I knock enough shit out there will be room for some intelligence to creep in.
It reached 96 degrees here yesterday. It wasn’t pleasant. However, it started cooling down relatively quickly in the late afternoon and then we got big thunder boomers and lightning. It was quite the show. It even rained once or twice.
It’s still pretty warm, actually, but at least it’s not in the 90s. Were supposed to see more thunder boomers today and some areas may even see hail.
When my husband gets home from work today we’re taking his car to the shop. It didn’t pass emissions and we know it needs some serious work. Because it didn’t pass emissions, we were unable to get the tabs renewed. Consequently, I’m stuck at home because he has my rig. It would have been nice to take a drive up to Mt. Rainier this week, but I’ll just find stuff to keep me occupied around the house, I guess.
I keep trying to sleep in, but I’m lucky to make to 7:00 am. I keep having disturbing dreams, so it’s not like any of the sleep is restful anyway.
Sari I’m on Facebook because it seems required of me, but I look at it all of once a week (if that).
I’m sure there is a lot of things that are important to the lives of my friends that I am missing.
I am equally sure that prior to Facebook such events would be the topic of face to face conversation the days we meet up for a visit. Just like it’s always been.
The reality is I am always happy when someone puts out in the open a thought or belief that I disagree with. I don’t feel the need to argue it with them (after all, what’s the point?), but it does make spotting and avoiding idiots* so much easier…*

**gotti **- TEN POUNDS OF GLITTER??? I can’t even imagine! I have a mental image of hoards of preschoolers covered in the stuff, tracking it on carpets with wild and reckless abandon! Dang!
[/QUOTE]
Oh, did I mention my glitter-craving friend has a preschooler and a dog? And a husband?
And again, that’s ten pounds per color, and she’s not content to use just one or two colors. Last I saw, she kept about fifteen types on hand, so somewhere in the house, she’s got at least 150 pounds of the stuff.
**swampy **- hush! I just know you snuck in and hacked your alleged 6:06 post.
We’re just back from AT&T. We’re de-bundling our phone from our cable and putting it on the prepaid plan like our cells. After my minutes expire in October, I’ll dump my cell and if I need to take a phone with me, it’ll be the home number.
We also bought a base unit with bluetooth so we can link to the home cell phone and have extensions. Tomorrow we’ll try it all out - the switchover should be complete by then. And at that point, I’ll call the cable company about switching out our modem - the current one connects the phone and it costs more per month than a non-phone modem.
I guess what I have is really for cannons & not guns; they need to be manually loaded, but are remote fired & fire multiple times. Here is a shot of them in action.
Sets barrel coordinates for [del]Lawn Guilant[/del]. Oh man, Cap’n think of it: Sharks & confetti fired towards a certain cee-ment pond.
Why? Seriously, why would anyone who isn’t a stripper need that much glitter?
And for another unanswerable question, why does Stephen King’s publisher continue to print his biography on the inside back flap? Anything more than “It’s Stephen King. If you’ve picked up this book, that’s all you need to know.” is just not necessary.
[del]Ummm, what kind of strip joint do you go to?[/del] No, no, on second thought, I don’t want to know!
I just received the following email:
I can maybe overlook the generic name & the poor Engrish which are classic signs of a 419 scam. But $5m a day for the next 500 days; every day, including weekends & holidays? It’s just not worth it. ::<Trash>:: :smack:
How is $5K/day for the next almost 2 years not worth it? Yes, I know it’s completely bogus, but if I could have it risk free, I’d take it in a heartbeat
