Summer Fun in the MMP!!

I just superficially skimmed, but the word “Interlochen” popped out at me. Ah yes, good times. While I’ve never specifically been there, I have a friend that lives in Traverse City. I spent quite a bit of time there visiting. There are few places other than NEO that I would like to live, but the land up there certainly stole my heart. I considered moving up there by myself to seek my fortune at one point.

Glad I stayed here, though.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 72 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 93 for the day. I am predictin’ hyoooooooomid as well.

Spaz make me a gin ‘n tonic as I clutch my pearls and retire to the faintin’ couch.

Rosie that is the most awesome performance of Soft Kitty evah!!!

StickyBuns hope everything’s goin’ well with the teachin’ gig.

I did retire to the bedroom early last night after takin’ some Benadryl.[sup]TM[/sup] I pulled an all nighter. Didn’t wake up even once to go pee! Anywho I’m feelin’ much better today. Yay for that.

OK, that’s all I got. I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy is hongry. Purtification for irk must also occur alas and alack.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

We have discovered the main disadvantage to dropping digital cable - no more interactive program guide. I didn’t realize how much we relied on it - now we have to go to a TV listing page on line to skim current programs. But the converter costs $10/mo and it’s not that much of an inconvenience to drop it. Just gotta get used to it.

Budget trimming is tough sometimes.

Today will involve a trek to WalMart  to pick up my laundry drying thingie and to get some kitchen trash bags. We’ve got to pick up some meds for FCD at CVS, and there’s something else we have to do but at the moment, I can’t recall what it is. Surely I’ll remember once we get back home.

It’s gloriously cool at the moment, all the windows are open, and Higgs is outside barking like a crazy person. I need to call her in because she’s annoying me - I’m sure the neighborhood isn’t too happy. Idiot dog.

That’s all for now. Happy Thursday!!

Ha! I’ve been trying to book my patch test for the past two weeks, and being shunted around an answering system every time I called.

Every call ended in one of three options: ‘beeep… click! silence’, an answering machine message saying ‘You’ve reached the machine of doctor X who’s on maternity leave, please do not leave a message, as nobody will be checking this for 6 months’ or a recorded list of numbers for various options, none of which matched what I was calling about, except possibly the reception, who’d put me through to that number in the first place.

I finally decided today I was just gonna walk to the hospital, and see if I could get it booked in person, when they called me! It’s only a month after the call back I was initially s’posed to get, but it means I don’t have to walk into town and get rained on (potentially to be told that the person who books that clinic is away anyway, same as last time I was there) so I ain’t complaining too much.

So now I have no plans for the day. The forecast said it should be dry and sunny until mid afternoon, but it’s already raining, so I think it may be wrong.

Just don’t lead him astray while I’m gone. If I come home to find him swilling beer and talking hockey, I will track you down and kick your butt mercilessly. Don’t say you weren’t warned! :stuck_out_tongue:

**Nut **- OK, maybe your patch test is important and all, but much more important is for you to arrange for decent weather starting on Aug 26. See to it, young lady, or I shall become miffed! Infuriated, even!!!

Blurf. That is all.

I know our traditional method for arranging decent weather!

Going to Spain! :stuck_out_tongue:

I think I shall attempt some blackberry picking today; I’ve been putting it off until the weather improves, but I suspect the berries might be over by then… I also need to go buy more sugar and yeast for boozin’ it up, plus some corks for bottlin’ the last lot.

But WU’s aren’t typically in the neighborhood of people with $2.5 million in assets.
Ohboyohboyohboy! There will confetti cannons going BOOM in about 1/2 hr!!!

Happy Thorsday!

Up all night with a messed up dog

blurf

It is the middle of August and it’s not even 60 American yet in the high country. I had to put on a sweater.

I’m sittin’ here at my desk and I just took off my shoes. Feels sooooooo good. Of course, that means I have to remember to put ‘em on before I go walkin’ around. I have been known to forget. Livin’ on the edge I am!

Up and caffeinated. It’s nice and cool out.

I do not “swill” beer. And wouldn’t you dinner conversations be more entertaining if they contained such hockey phrases as “filthy dangle” and “he went 5 hole on the goalie”

swampy, no shirt, no shoes, no service.

Sari, hope Sah-dog is feeling better today.

: waves at Sticky :

He seems to be Doggio

Rough night last night.
Sah-dog was up all night, I’m not sure what is wrong with him. He was fine yesterday then last night he woke up around midnight and he was up and down all night. He finally fell asleep around 5 this morning and now he is snoring away.
He’s been panting a lot and acts like he can’t get comfortable, but only at night. I looked it up online and I’m wondering if it is anxiety because if I sit up and put on the light he settles down. Then when I turn out the light and try to go to sleep he gets up and starts panting again.
I know his eyesight is getting worse and he gets disoriented easily.
I’ll see how he does today and take him to the vet if he starts panting again. I had moved the laundry basket from it’s usual position and when I put it back where it belonged he seems to relax a little. I think he is a little flipped out over one of the chairs in the living room being gone as well. He kept walking in circles where the chair used to be.
Now I’m worried about going away for the weekend.

Aaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhh!

That is all.

Poor Sah-dawg! Sari go away for the weekend. You need the break. Of course Sah-dawg is goin’ to think you’ve gone away forever. Heck, he thinks that when you go to the bathroom. I’m sure Sah-son will take good care of him.

doggio if no shirt, no shoes, no service meant I’d get left alone, I’d dress like that for irk everyday. :stuck_out_tongue:

In other news, I had chikin sallit for N.O.L. and it was good.

ETA: BooFae I sincerely hope that Aaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhhhhhh! made you feel better.

Swampy the poor dog seems to be okay this morning. He snored away until noon. Now hes up just laying around and looking happy. Maybe the failing eyesight and dark are too much for him. Sah-son stays up most of the night anyway so Sah-dog can stay wit him. He won’t go into Sah-sons room, never has, this dog has always been a creature of habit.
I hope moving isn’t going to be too much for him to handle.

My friend has already sent me a text this morning asking me if I have started packing yet. Uh noooo it’s only down the ocean for 3 days, there is not much to pack and most of it will have to wait until after I get ready anyway. It’s not like I am going to be out in the boonies with no stores nearby. If I forget something I can do without it or go buy it. My worry is that I’ll be 4 hours away and if something does happen to the dog it’s a long ride home. I don’t know that anybody else will be able to take him to the vet.
I may take him today. Now that he is up he’s panting again and it’s not hot in here. He doesn’t look unhappy or in pain.

Mooom, your clothes dryer thingy, is that for your trip? I usually use a heavy plastic suit hanger for drying the delicates at home. Two of them take care of the bras, compression stockings, nylons, etc. Mine have the elongated hooks on either side, two clothes pin type things and plenty of room for things on the cross bar.

After the meet up tonight, I need to pack for going up north to the family reunion this weekend. Dad informed me last night on the phone that my first job when I get there is to bathe the dog. :stuck_out_tongue:

Is that the sound of a pointy stick wielding Sri Lankan Spiders being hurled at some idiot?

At least wear pants.

Gordie likes to pant a lot. But he likes to make noise.

Yes, 'tis. Even tho there are washers and dryers on the ship, there will be over 3000 passengers, so I expect the demand maybe high. This thingie will be sufficient for unders and socks, and we figure we’ll allocate one day to do a load of shirts about halfway thru. We can wing it, no matter what.

I’ve been on hold with AT&T for over 30 minutes now (thank goodness for speaker function!) trying to figure out why we still have a home phone as well as the cell on the same number. We can make outgoing calls from both, but we only get incoming on our home line. It was supposed to be switched over yesterday by this time.

The first tech I spoke to handed me off to someone who handles California, so she’s trying to find someone who deals with Maryland lines. And here I sit on hold. Their hold music is really annoying, plus there’s a lot of static on the line. What a fiasco!! Someone just came on the line after 36 minutes, but I could barely hear here and she couldn’t hear me. Dammit - I’ve got to start all over again.
