Not sure whether this is a MPSIMS or IMHO thread, but there’s sort of a poll, so I’ll try it here.
Summertime means the arrival of many new guests to the Board. I, for one, welcome our new Guest overlords, but it also means we’ll see the rehashing of many old (and frankly tiresome) topics.
Which threads are you dreading the return of?
There are so many to choose from – Kirk vs. Picard, for example. But the #1 topic I know will reappear is “Why do girls hate ‘nice guys?’/go for assholes?”
The various threads about whether .9999… = 1 is really true seem to have died down, but it was a popular topic back in its day. Perhaps it’ll pop up again.
You know, I’ve been here all these years, and I can’t say I’m “tired” of a topic yet. There are always new people adding new insights and perspectives (and always a dim bulb or two to enjoy kicking around).
Every time we re-do a topic, I learn something new or see an idea presented in a way I hadn’t thought of before. I guess that’s why I’m still here when countless others have drifted away over the years.
