Sunday Morning Puzzle # 28

I wrote most of this puzzle several weeks ago while vacationing on the beaches of North Carolina. Below are 12 lists of letters. I had simple instructions for figuring out what these lists are all about but I lost them. When one is at the beach and one’s thoughts turn to attractive ladies in swimsuits, mistakes can happen. While I was so distracted, the tide came in and took away the simple instructions. Sorry. I do remember that each list of letters involves a name not so well known and another name that is very well known. There’s also an explanation somewhere. I’m sure someone here can sort this out.

  1. NOOMRRAEHEITGOMANK

  2. OIHUIQARABAZEWREAPALIEGINA

  3. HKCENNERFETEUNERCKREYHTAESH

  4. VNOISNHRGOIJENLISOCAIN

  5. EILLLDINNIHSENOIREHITAAKS

  6. DKNALALNOHNWSADAASRAMT

  7. HOTIMKSLALEHTONWEAHMAS

  8. ENAOTSETLIAHWRRBEAHTMAEHA

  9. SNOEKUIATYIHLRCAERBOLIMINKA

  10. TTCFENRLOCAZONRIAEDLA

  11. PPHASANYLWOAARIAIC

  12. TINECSNLLIVEIRIOJNORIAMS

NC also has some lovely parks. It would be a shame to miss them.

Yes, I can think of one of those er… parks…in particular, though it is not in NC. Haven’t seen it for several years though.

Typo alert: Shouldn’t # 7 be HOTIMKSLALEHTONWAHMAS?

There he is - Mr. Puzzle Guy!

Welcome home, Biotop! I’m certainly glad your vacation plans didn’t include sightseeing in NYC or the Pentagon. I’m so glad, in fact, I’m even willing to forgive you for Puzzle 24 (which I hope you noticed we finally solved during your absence).

I’m at work and am supposed to be toiling on the 4th quarter budget, but let me see… Setec, I don’t see a typo in 7, but I’m probably wrong. Let me look at it again…

aseymayo, Congratulations on solving #24! I told you the answer was RIGHT THERE, didn’t I? By the way, I had “lower” as a definition for Cow (5), but Steer works just as well. If I get a chance tonight, I’ll post the ending I wrote for that story. It’s great to be back here!

Setec

Don’t discard that “E”. You may need it for something else. #7 has no typo, at least not one that I can see.

I can’t believe I really solved the puzzle! This is so exciting! I just can’t believe it! ::smiles and cries at the same time::

Seriously though, I think the lady in #1 actually spells her name a little differently.

Congratulations Peregrine! You win this week’s crown.

I think Setec was pretty close on this one as well so we have a first-runner-up.

Sorry about the name mispelling on #1. I got the spelling from a local paper that Sunday Morning–I should have checked elsewhere.

And as always, aseymayo, I appreciate your congeniality!

Humph - congeniality, indeed! I must’ve blown the talent portion by not singing the whole damned song.

C’mon, rowrrbazzle, let’s push Peregrine off the runway and steal her roses! And I’m sure I’ve got naked photos of Setec around here somewhere!

Doh!!
