Being in university I spend pretty much all of my Sundays working at a part time job… Since we had the week off of school I was working during the week and now I have today off so ANYWAYS… my question is how does everyone spend Sundays?
Every other Sunday–Get up, eat, breakfast, goof off, eat lunch, goof off some more, eat supper, get sundae, goof off more, take a shower, go to bed.
In-between sundays–get up, eat breakfast, alternate essay writing and goofing off, eat lunch, alternate essay writing and goofing off, eat supper, get sundae, if essay isn’t done yet, finish and print off, goof off some more, take a shower, go to bed.
Today–got up, ate breakfast, goofed off, ate lunch, goofed off soem more, went to Superstore (couldn’t get alcohol, unfortunately), crawled over snowbanks to get back, changed into dry pants, goofed off a little more, ate supper, remembered it was Sundae Sunday and got a sundae (shopping made me forget), came back to my room, here I am.
My “other” job. The one I don’t get paid for. I get up a bit later than when I am going into the office, but I usually have cleaning, laundry, shopping, or bill paying to do. Cook a couple of meals. Clean up after cooking the meals. Oh, and grab a bit of time on the computer.
I work from 10 am to 6 pm, because everyone else at my store is Super Christian. I used to work a twelve-hour day with the first three hours alone, when we had longer Sunday hours, but they cut back and gave me a regular shift with a coworker there almost the entire time. (I have to go in early and open up, so I’m there at 9:30 despite what the schedule claims, and she doesn’t show up until quarter past the hour most days.) After work, if Gunslinger’s done shooting things for the newspaper, we have dinner together and maybe watch a movie.
Today I goofed off, watched the Nextel Cup race, and goofed off some more.
Morning: Get up, get dressed, put dinner (midday meal) in the crockpot, feed dogs, get child up and dressed, go to church, come home, change clothes (mine and child’s), either eat dinner or, once a month or so, clear off the table for company dinner.
Afternoon: Entertain either child and dogs, or child, dogs and guests. In the background, clean up the kitchen, run laundry, put away all the clutter that accumulates during the week.
Evening: Look at all appointments for next week, figure out meals, make shopping list. Double check schedule to make sure everything fits. Put child to bed, watch good movie (previously rented), go to sleep.
Oh, yes. Check the Straight Dope for interesting threads. Wherever that fits in.
I’m usually working at my part-time job too, but I’ve been lucky enough to have Sundays off for a few weeks. I mostly sleep as long as possible, then get up to do laundry and homework. If I’ve been very studious and have all my work done, I try to meet up with my friends and find something interesting to do. Today: snowball fight at the park.
Church, then usually go home and goof off. Unless I’m going to my friends’ houses, or have other plans.
After years of working a crappy weekend job to get myself through school, I enjoy nothing more than doing absolutely nothing on Sundays. It’s a day to recharge, catch up on reading, watch bad movies, and be lazy with the dog, among other non-productive things.
Sunday is usually movie day. Husband might work on the car for a couple hours in the morning, but by afternoon it’s a movie, eat something, another movie, eat something again, take a nap, wake up and do another movie, then eat something and watch 60 minutes or whatever else is on.
Do they get special powers?
I usually work, but if not I sleep all day, with breaks for the SDMB and food. Oh, and fruit rollups.
Morning: Sleep until Mr. Toes bounces around on the bed in an effort to rouse me or that cat starts hacking up a hairball. Go out for breakfast (our one luxury), or wheedle Mr. Toes into whipping up some eggs. Pick up a paper. Spend rest of morning looking through said paper for good coupons and stories to read out loud.
Afternoon: Shower. Run errands or visit with friends. Nap. Get frisky. Nap some more.
Evening: Finish up homework. Study. Cook dinner. Prepare crock-pot dinner for Monday.
Night: Work on some forgotten project that has to get done RIGHT NOW for class tomorrow.
Sleep in, get up, read gossip and scandle in rubbishy sunday tabloids, doss around, watch telly, eat sunday dinner, go to granparents, have tea, doss around, go to bed.

Eo Echo, it’s not too late to join Fantasy Racing!
It’s free, and the way things are going, you should be able to pass Bruce"Talking-trash-out-of-the-box-but-is-only-6th-in-a-basically-7-team-league"Daddy in about two weeks…
Group ID is 2985, and the password is racecar. I think you have to go to the fantasy home page, and join an existing league. That’s where the first sentence of this paragraph will be useful.
got up at noon and had breakfast, then spend the rest of the watching tv (mostly whatever was on history ch or discovery during the day and fox and comedy central at night). It doesn’t seem like much but I use sundays to relax from school and practice.
Church in the morning, then usually go out to lunch with some friends afterwards.
Then I get home, call my mama, then take a big fat nap…
I spend my Sunday cleaning my house and doing the tons of laundry that accumulates during the week. Then if I have time I go to Target and spend way too much money .
Dec thru April: skiing if I feel like it, or hanging around the house. Drinking beer and BBQing.
March thru Oct: watching Formula One and motorcycle racing on the tube. Maybe get outside with the kid and horse around. Drinking beer and BBQing.
Oct thru Jan: Holiday crap. Also good time for off-roading in the Jeep or motorcycling, as its not so damn Butt-sweaty. Drinking beer and BBQing.
Year-round: hangin’ out in the garage, building stuff, working on the cars/trucks/bikes. Working round the yard, building stuff, tearing stuff down, maintainace. Can’t get enough play time with the kid. Brewing/bottling beer. Drinking beer and BBQing (you knew that was coming!)
Church, then either the public library or the zoo. In the evening, the laundry and next week’s lesson plans, both of which I swear every week I won’t put off to the last minute, and every week I do just that.
