Things to do today

It’s Sunday, best day of the week IMO.

First off it’s a big fuck off English breakfast and 2 cups of coffee.

Then go get the papers, nice relaxing read before a long soak in a hot bath followed by a shave.

It’s a warm sunny day so…

Off to the local park to watch the Amateur football games, of which there are about 6-10 scheduled, there are umpteen pitches so you have a choice of who to cheer for.

It’s now about 12:30 and the pub is open
Meet pals in pub, chew the fat, have a few games of 9 card Don for small stakes.

After quaffing a few pints, grab pub menu and decide what to scoff, think I’ll have the lamb.

Sits back fully gorged, has another couple of pints, calls a cab and returns to Chateau Chowder for a kip before watching Match of the Day 2.

I love Sundays, so what are your plans for today?

I get out of work at 6AM (4AM now), try to sleep for awhile, and go back to work at 3PM. And hopefully not have a repeat of yesterday.
Can we trade plans?

Well, this is my first weekend emerging from my World of Warcrack addiction, so I’m going to watch the flowers grow, enjoy the sunlight while it lasts, and maybe fiddle around in the studio and see if I can clear off my drawing table.

Sometime in there I will also have entirely too much to eat, enjoy fattening brownies, watch a movie with the hubby, and play with the cat (the four legged one) when she demands it.

Sounds like a lovely day.

Hmmm. Lamb.

You realize Sunday is a working day in some parts of the world, do you not?

I think I hate you!

Remind me to have a good laugh at you expense some lazy Friday, when you’re busting your chops at work and I’m browsing the Dope for fun :stuck_out_tongue:

Get yourself on a plane my friend and the Sunday lunch is on me, also the falling down water

Noone Special : I’m retired old chap

Well, it’s sunny for a change here in Hamburg so the mutt and I are off to the dog park where he will enjoy a couple hours of sniffing other dogs’ heinies and peeing on things and I will relax in the sun with a good book.

Chowder, have you met up with your long lost sis yet?

Not yet but a meeting in Leeds which is about halfway is planned for next month

Sunday’s nearly over, but it’s been good. Wrote up reports which I’ll get paid for so effectively I worked today. Bit of reading, bit of telly, bit of 'Net surfing on top. A good day.

Oh, yay! I’m just starting USA Sunday!

Um…I’m going to go to bed here in a minute. When I wake up I will do integral calculus. After some coffee and possibly some pho.

And laundry. And dishes. Life is hard for the student/employee, but at least I don’t have to work 40 hours if I don’t want. I average 32, with 3 classes.

Just after 5pm here. Slept late, read the local newspapers – The Nation and the Bangkok Post – cleaned house some. The wife is off working out right now. Tonight we’ll watch a DVD – Steve Coogan’s “Tristram Shandy: A Cock & Bull Story” this time – while I down a few Singha beers.

You’re retired and you’re calling me old? :stuck_out_tongue:

Well I could have called you old bean or old fruit, I was being polite

I have to divert the water for the shower to miss out the pump.

Then I have to remove the pump.

Then I have to dismantle it to find out why it’s not working.

Then I have to fix it (this is the tricky part).

Then I have to reinstall it.

I’m also hoping to go for a walk with some friends and fly my stunt kite from the top of White Horse Hill.

I’m siting here with a coffee after having some pancakes and maple syrup for breakfast. I’m contemplating going out and putting a roof on the wood shed, we replaced the roof of the house last year and brought enough shingles to finally put a waterproof roof on the woodshed so it looks like today would have be the best chance at doing so but now it starting to rain.

I’m sitting around for a few hours, then going to practice for a while before my college’s performance of Carmina Burana, in which I’m playing piccolo. After that, I’ll do some homework.

I’ve made a pot of coffee that is filled to the ‘ten cup’ line, only it’s really more like five real cups. For the novelty, I’ve pulled out my Optimus 111 camp stove and I’m planning to cook some scrambled eggs and some kippers.

Today is Laundry Day. I’ll probably move some stuff around in preparation for getting new exterior doors for the back bedrooms put in, I’ll read the rest of Terry Prathcett’s Men At Arms, and I’ll go to the store. It’s been a while since I’ve made steak au poivre, and I think that might be good for dinner. Pretty much a lazy day today. I may take a nap later.

Fuck it, fell at the first fence. I can’t get into the space under the bath to undo the pipes to the pump. Gonna have to call a plumber in. Which might involve removing the plasterboard I installed last time had a plumber in, who knocked the wall down to get at the pipes. Fuck it. I feel so emasculated.

Now I’m vacuuming the garden.

‘If at first you don’t succeed, try and try again. If you still don’t succeed, give up. There’s no sense being a damned fool about it.’

I’m going to shower, get dressed, and head out to a bridal shower for the husband’s cousin. Once I get home, I’ll be grading tests all night. Saturdays are typically so much better for me.

Oh, well the rain has let up and the skies are starting to clear maybe I’ll get the roof done today after all. Some what of a relief I didn’t feel like sanding and painting in the basement today, I’ll probably do that tomorrow.
