Ho Hum.
Well I’m back from the boozer having enjoyed a very pleasurable sfternoon of boozing and scoffing, I had the roast beef instead of the lamb, fancied it somehow.
God I’m absolutely knackered, I think I’ll have that kip I promised myself.
jjimm: Forget it, get to the pub, have a few pints of Guinness and then try again…on second thoughts, don’t, get a plumber, you know it makes sense
Still early on a grey, dismal, rainy Sunday morning.
Will spend the next couple of hours poking around here, then lie down on the sofa and do my best imitation of a couch potato.
On the DVD line up today: One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest, a couple of John Wayne/John Ford classic westerns, and we’ll round it all out with Casablanca.
Beats the hell outta what I’d be doing* if it wasn’t a grey, dismal, rainy Sunday morning …
I slept in late, had breakfast, downloaded some more photos to my iPod, cleaned up the kitchen and vacuumed my car. Later on Fearless Husband and I will go to the gym and possibly to the Metroparks to grill some dinner and watch the sunset. I also have some library books I’d like to get into today.
Tackling Mount Laundry…any minute now, any minute. Just one more post, I swear!
Then we’re off for Earth Day things - trip to the recycling center, getting more CFL’s, planting seeds and trees and such stuff. There’s a big neopagan ritual/celebration happening up in Evanston later we’ll be joining.
It’s SO beautiful out today. Sunny and warm and it smells like spring. I can’t wait to get outside! I’m less looking forward to putting sunscreen on a wiggly 2 year old.
Work on my book, wash dishes, and either start a new computer game or continue playing Marvel Ultimate Alliance on the Wii. We need to shave the cat, but my husband is going to visit a friend’s house for most of the evening, and it’s an hour-long, two-person job.
I can’t even imagine what this means… Do you take a vacuum cleaner to the weeds? If so, that’s brilliant!
Today’s weather in LA is horrendous; cold and gloomy, with the prospect of rain later on. I’m going to haul in more wood for the fireplace, so that if it rains I’ll still have dry wood for a fire tonight. Then laundry, change a light fixture, clean the car, and maybe do some work. I also need to head to the grocery store to pick up the makings for soup. I can’t believe it’s nearly May, and I’m planning soup and a fire for tonight.
I’ve got a brick patio that was all overgrown with weeds, and under the weeds is gravel - no idea why; something to do with the last owners. So I treated the weeds last week, raked and picked them this week, then swept the gravel up with a yard brush. Unfortunately, I can’t get the last of the gravel up, which is when I hit on the great idea of using the Dyson. It’s worked pretty well so far.
Well, we were supposed to go out to breakfast with my mom, aunt and sister, then shop a little, but instead they manged to completely offend me this morning, and they just left instead (because it was somehow MY fault that THEY hurt me in order to make my sister feel better about HER mistakes).
So I’m just sitting around, listening to music and not accomplishing much at all.
It isn’t all that great, but really, it’s better than spending the day with them pretending everything is OK when I really just feel like I’ve been treated like dirt. Besides, I have spent quite a bit of money lately… this is better for my wallet! I’ll get around to doing some dishes and laundry later, and there is enough left over food from last night to have a good supper tonight.
It’s finally stopped raining, it’s a beautiful day, and I can’t enjoy it. I managed to drag my ass out of bed long enough to throw in a load of laundry and do the dishes. I also had to check on the progress of Family Feud. All I have left on my to do list is to throw the clean clothes in the dryer and go back to bed. I hate being sick. My luck, I’ll be feeling better tomorrow, just in time to begin a new work week.
Plan is to take advantage of the nice day and go shoot some photos of the fields of camas in the park. However, by the time I’d recharged the camera battery and downloaded and archived all the photos, it was noon and the sun was too high and bright. It’s still bright out, but I should be able to get better photos now since the flowers are on slopes. So I’m finishing my tea and heading out shortly. I’m delighted it’s nice out - it was supposed to rain.
