Super Bowl Commercials!

I lurk at another board, which is populated by gun-totin’ (nothing wrong with that! ), God-fearin’, tea-baggin’ Amurrikins who think that Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, and Glen Beck make sense. They actually believe that America will turn into a fascist state if the Liberals have their way.

A little ribbing is fine. But in the case of that ad, there are too many who believe it.

This reminds me of something they said on “Wait, wait, don’t tell me …” last Saturday. Discussing the issue of allowing homosexuals to serve in the military without hiding their preference, they noted a Congresscritter from Utah who was quoted as saying that, if this were allowed, all sorts of other people would have to be let in, including transgendered and hermaphrodites! I just started laughing at this. :stuck_out_tongue:

One of the panelists indicated this was an example of “Don’t ask, can’t tell.”

Not a great selection this year.

Doritos–the first one with the bark collar was pretty funny.
The Snickers ad was great!
The CareerBuilders “casual Friday” ad was good.
Leno/Oprah/Dave was a pleasant surprise.
E-Trade “baby” ads were just O.K. The girlfriend one was the best.

BTW, are they using a new baby or has the first one just gotten older? Either way, he’s not as appealing as he used to be.

I heard that too, though not on Wait, Wait… Don’t Tell Me.

I wonder if the word means what he thinks it means?

(Or if he thinks the word means what it does. Or something like that.)
