This was one of the better SB’s, but it was almost one of the worst. Thank God for that impromptu Katrina tribute.
Hate when the refs ruin a game at the end.
ETA: Glad Corey Graham gets a ring I guess.
And a shiny car (whatever it is the SBMVP gets)
LVP-culliver
For some reason the NFL, the refs and the announcers wanted the Ravens in this one.
It wouldn’t surprise me if Lewis became the next Lawrence Taylor only much worse.
#84 hold him like he was a life jacket after the Titanic. After the hold on the KR on the touchdown and on the last SF play, I can’t say I’m surprised by a no call going the Raven’s way, but the Niners didn’t play a good game.
Way to get a “fucking awesome!” out over the air, Flacco…
Such bullshit.
Yeah, there were a couple officiating calls that might have been questionable, but the bottom line is that the 49ers made more mistakes and played worse defense than the Ravens, and the final score reflected that.
Yeah, he’s so much worse than Raping Rothlesberger…
The refs certainly did. However CBS spent the whole game blowing Jim H. and Kaep but hardly mentioned John or Flacco.
Ya, that was bizarre, the other guy had both arms around him. The only thing I can think is that the official was paying such close attention to the back of the end zone to make sure the punter didn’t step out that he wasn’t even watching for holding/tackling/mauling.
Pretty much this. That fumble inside the Ravens 30 (20?) when the 49ers were driving was HUGE. Especially down 7-3 at that point. And their penalties were extremely costly.
I felt that the 49ers were talent wise the better team, but they did not win.
God I hate Ray Lewis. Fucker.
Good non call… SF plays a better first half and they wouldn’t be bitching.
Huh, that was more entertaining for its complexity than quality of play. Sloppy but, nevertheless, memorable.
Come on, the Niners put themselves in this position but it was an egregious blown call.
On the upside, the past few years the SB champ team goes right into le toilet the following season, so the Ravens will not even be making the playoffs next year, maybe worse.
Calling a 4th down play with your running quarterback that doesn’t involve him getting out of the pocket with a run/pass option is, quite frankly, bizarre. Especially since the Ravens stupidly sent pressure right up the middle - they’d have been totally vulnerable to the obvious rollout. Were both brothers trying to outsmart each other?
I’m beyond happy. Good game Niners fans. Great season. Kaepernick is scary good.
If there was anywhere I could donate to avoid ten or twelve games per season (between the Pats and the playoffs) of Nantz and Simms over the next two decades, I would seriously do so. Alas, we are stuck in an unjust world.
