Super lame pitting, but eat shit Tapatalk

I don’t give a fuck how anyone posts to this messageboard. I also don’t blame any posters for this, as they are clearly not doing it themselves.

Whatever the fuck Tapatalk is, I now despise it on principle for infecting more and more posts here on the boards with the insufferable signature:

“Sent from my [phone model] using Tapatalk”

I turned off signatures over a decade ago, and find this new pseudo-signature (which ignores the signature filter, of course) incredibly irritating.

Hey, I warned you up front that this pitting was super lame.

I can’t figure out how to turn it off.

And I can’t figure out why Tapatalk keeps nagging me on Safari for mobile.

And I can’t figure out why the ignore function and spoiler tags are not recognized in preview on Tapatalk.

Tapatalk can eat a heaping spoonful of boiled dicks.

And given all that, it’s still better than trying to use the web interface on a mobile phone.

I disagree

You’re in the wrong forum: try GQ.

How do I turn off “Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk”?

There, I can’t help you. I don’t get that problem.

Not sure what you mean here? I find Tapatalk better than a regular browser for the ignore function: it doesn’t display the post at all from someone I’ve got on “ignore” - I don’t even know they’ve posted.

Agreed.

Me, too. My phone browser is perfectly cromulent for these forums.

Yep. All you have to do is embiggen the page.

Gah, you have my sincere apologies. At first I didn’t realize the new version of Tapatalk was appending that to my posts. Once I realised, I disabled it… only for it to appear again. I (fingers crossed) seem to have finally disabled it for good. I was mortified to have that tag appended to my posts - as if anyone, anywhere would care what device and interface I’m using. It’s the height of obnoxiousness.

Still pinned down by a physical device, huh. Luddite!

Nope. I can read it just fine the way it is.

Same here. It got me last week.

I don’t like tapatalk at all, but I started using it when I realized how many fucking ads are on the desktop site. I don’t see those at home, thanks to adblock. It didn’t occur to me that there is probably an adblock app for my phone, so tapatalk felt like my only other option at the time. Now I’m just too lazy to switch.

I am writing this reply on my phone using the pitted app. I think it may be my first such post. I read several message boards using Tapatalk, but generally prefer to post from a device with a keyboard.

I agree with those who prefer reading SDMB using Tapatalk rather than a browser.

I guess this is a test post.

ETA: No annoying autosig, just my Mencken sig, which I didn’t ask to have included.

::hangs head::
You got me.

That means I have to keep moving it around to read. That’s not a good solution.

So, you’ve got either exceptional eyesight or phone size. Good for you.

I think it’s pretty obvious that the browser format is not a good fit for mobile. That’s why every other forum I see has a separate mobile interface.

Does Tapatalk realize that they’re actually doing negative advertising? Every time I see that sig, I assume that the user didn’t turn it on and doesn’t want it.

So Tapatalk is using dozens of their users to broadcast “We’re another douchebag company who puts our self-aggrandizement ahead of our customers.”

So, thanks to that signature, I’ve never tried it.

Posted from me, dammit.

I seriously considered trying tapatalk, until I discovered it wasn’t a speech to text converter.

That signature has been shut off on mine forever and I’ve been using Tapatalk for years. Posting now to double check.

It got me too, recently. Agreed it’s a total dick move by the app’s distributor. Plus, mine was in German, even making me violate board rules against foreign language posting!

I hope I figured out how to turn it off for good now…
