There, I can’t help you. I don’t get that problem.
Not sure what you mean here? I find Tapatalk better than a regular browser for the ignore function: it doesn’t display the post at all from someone I’ve got on “ignore” - I don’t even know they’ve posted.
Gah, you have my sincere apologies. At first I didn’t realize the new version of Tapatalk was appending that to my posts. Once I realised, I disabled it… only for it to appear again. I (fingers crossed) seem to have finally disabled it for good. I was mortified to have that tag appended to my posts - as if anyone, anywhere would care what device and interface I’m using. It’s the height of obnoxiousness.
I don’t like tapatalk at all, but I started using it when I realized how many fucking ads are on the desktop site. I don’t see those at home, thanks to adblock. It didn’t occur to me that there is probably an adblock app for my phone, so tapatalk felt like my only other option at the time. Now I’m just too lazy to switch.
I am writing this reply on my phone using the pitted app. I think it may be my first such post. I read several message boards using Tapatalk, but generally prefer to post from a device with a keyboard.
I agree with those who prefer reading SDMB using Tapatalk rather than a browser.
I guess this is a test post.
ETA: No annoying autosig, just my Mencken sig, which I didn’t ask to have included.
Does Tapatalk realize that they’re actually doing negative advertising? Every time I see that sig, I assume that the user didn’t turn it on and doesn’t want it.
So Tapatalk is using dozens of their users to broadcast “We’re another douchebag company who puts our self-aggrandizement ahead of our customers.”
So, thanks to that signature, I’ve never tried it.
It got me too, recently. Agreed it’s a total dick move by the app’s distributor. Plus, mine was in German, even making me violate board rules against foreign language posting!
I hope I figured out how to turn it off for good now…
