<sound of one hand clapping>
Just seen the Red Tornado episode - so, the hand-cutting thing, that’s power burnout from the last “solar flare” - type blast against RT, is my guess.
Still like the show, will keep watching.
Same as above - just got around to watching this episode. (The wife refuses to watch, so I have to find a time when she’s occupied with other things.) The thoughts that occurred to me were: Do Kryptonian women have periods, would they still have them when super-powered, was Kara past menarche when she left Krypton, and would her depowering cause anything like that to suddenly start happening. (There was a Tampax commercial just after the show and my mind works in strange ways,)
Still like the show, still watching every episode (eventually.)
The Tornado kept a couple of spare arms around because he knew that had been told that he was vulnerable in that area, and as we all know: “Forewarned is four-armed.”
Now THAT I was not expecting!
Four-armed is half an octopus.
I agree. It was a great twist – and was perfectly logical.
I do like the mood of the show. It gets Supergirl right.
Well, well, well.
It looks like Hank Henshaw really is J’onn J’onnz after all. I was expecting them to keep with canon, but I’m OK with this. It really doesn’t throw things off too badly, and Martian Manhunter has always been a pretty interesting character.
They are really burning through canon, aren’t they?
He can still be both. We may wind up having more than one Hank Henshaw.
It was a great fakeout and puts the scene where he said he “used” to have a family in a whole different light.
Jemm, Son of Saturn gets no respect, huh?
Wow, this ended on an actual cliffhanger, and had a big revelation too.
When Henshaw disappeared from Alex and Donovan’s monitors, that was a clue to me that he might turn out to be J’onn.
I still thought maybe he was going to turn out to be a bad guy, but at some point it started really feeling like Martian shapeshifter. I suppose once Alex had him locked up, I was leaning toward something like what they actually did. And in the scene before he revealed his true identity, I was anticipating (though really not sure) him being J’onn J’onnz–and then I started wondering what name/pronunciation he would use.
I expect there are viewers asking, “John Jones??! What kind of name is that for a Martian??!” :D
The pronunciation thing bothered me a bit, too. I’d never heard the name spoken, so mentally I always pronounced it John Johns.
Considering the name of this secret identity (in the 60s), the pronunciation should be obvious.
Same here. That pronunciation at least sounds somewhat alien. Oh well- I’m just happy that I TOTALLY CALLED IT, YOU GUYS.
It sounded to me as though he said “zhahn zohnz,” which is just “John Jones” with softer Js. Which is also the way I’ve always pronounced it myself, so maybe I was hearing what I wanted to hear.
I noticed that Auntie Astra left Kara alone when she was powerless and then only showed up to kill her after she was back at full strength. I must say, damned sporting of the old gal, eh what?
Would she have known?
X-ray vision, broken arm; bit of a giveaway I’d have thought.
For that matter, does Kara need to keep wearing the sling, or will people start to wonder how she healed so fast?
Does X-ray vision work on other Kryptonians?
When their powers are burnt out and they can be cut by a piece of broken glass, I would think so.
Although I think the rapid healing will probably go unnoticed by Kara’s co-workers. She had a cold that made her boss recoil in disgust, and was fine by the time she was walking home and the earthquake hit.
