Okay, it was filler. But it was GOOD filler. I laughed a lot, and Patrick the Witch was pretty hot. And, really, who can have enough Bobby? Based on this episode, my guess is that he tries to off himself sometime this season.

Next week: Trickster!
I think the “grumpy old men” line might be my favorite Sam moment all season. And kudos to the casting people for finding an old guy who could so perfectly mimic Dean’s tones and cadences.
I don’t think so. I think the little talking-to Dean gave him at the end had the desired effect.
Chad Everett was perfectly cast as Dean. Well, he’s too tall, but otherwise perfect.
I don’t really get why they wouldn’t have gone the way they do with other creatures of the night. They kill witches, but this one, they leave alone. He kills people! Bah.
Well, he didn’t force anyone to play (outside of Sam, but thats this story) - we have atleast one example of him letting a guy ‘stop while he’s ahead’ and another where the opponent clearly won. While we may dislike the outcome for those that lost, it appears they lost on thier own, and knew full well the stakes.
I don’t think he needed killin’, any more than any other cardshark does. Hell, he plays more honestly than Dean, who has scammed plenty of people at poker. He’s upfront about the cost, and he’s upfront about the odds. Magic isn’t inherently evil, and though years aren’t a recoverable currency, neither is your life savings usually, but that doesn’t stop some people from betting it.
And once again, kudos to the casting department. They really do an excellent job.
