The antagonist of a brief TV series before 2000. The protagonists, a man and a woman, eventually murder the guy, but he shows up the next day alive, well and with a smirk. That is all I can recall, having seen only tow or three episodes. What was the name of the program?
Yes, I believe so. Thanks, gdave!
I love the 'Dope!
If you decide you want to stream this show make sure you get them in the right order. The network fucked it up in the first run,
Such a shame as it was a great series.
I found the series at a decent price on Ebay.
I can’t help but think of “American Gothic” every time I catch an episode of “NCIS: New Orleans” because the actor who played the boy on the former, Lucas Black, eventually grew up to star on the latter.
And every time I see Gary Cole’s Bill Lumbergh character on Office Space I think of him playing the evil Sheriff on American Gothic: Office Space (1/5) Movie CLIP - Did You Get the Memo? (1999) HD - YouTube
And of course Paige Turco was on Person of Interest and other shows, and Sarah Paulson was on American Horror Story and many other things.
The story revolves around Caleb Temple (Lucas Black) and the town’s corrupt sheriff, Lucas Buck (Gary Cole).
That’s gotta get confusing on set.
Killing the antagonist and having him show up the next morning is confusing in it’s self.
I am looking forward to watching it. I’ll take notes.
The reason that I connect Lucas Black so strongly to “American Gothic” is that it was the first time I had ever seen him, and he seemingly fell off the face of the planet until resurfacing (to my mind, anyway) on “NCIS: New Orleans.” The others I had already seen in other projects, and did enough things that I knew about over the years to at least remind me they still existed.
