I hope some of y’all posting to this thread got a chance to see the immoral Man…or Astro Man? while they were touring. They put out some great recordings (*Is it Man…or Astro Man?, Project Infinity, Spectrum of Infinite Scale) but their live shows were some of the best I’ve ever seen. What’s cooler than seeing a bunch of guys in space suits doing full-bore, hammer-down surf music? Seeing a bunch of guys in space suits doing surf music with their heads on fire!
I’ve seen Man…or Astro Man? AND Los Straitjackets (different shows, of course).
When I saw Man or Astro Man they had a large ‘computer’, this Univac-like thing made from cardboard and silver spray paint or something-- can’t remember what they called the computer but it was something they built to help them leave the planet again. Cute. I think Los Mex Pistols del Norte opened.
