Surprises coming for voters for the Leopards-Eating-Faces Party

I was almost whooshed on that one.

Would that be the bass player?

As a bass player, I found that insulting!

Just kidding…I laughed. Somehow I ended up married. Miracles do happen.

They also go by the nickname “catfish”.

No, I’m a mocker.

That’s the one.

Said in Ringo Starr’s accent. Or was that George Harrison???

I used to ride a Vespa. My step-father rides a Harley.

Guess our political views…

calling @gatopescato !

Back to the face-eating leopards and their surprises…

Had dinner with a group of cousins, one of whom I hadn’t seen in many years. He went into the military right after high school, then later became a cop, so his conservative political views were no surprise. He genially agreed not to talk politics, but mentioned that he voted for Trump because Trump would be good for the economy.

Thing is, after he retired from the police department, he took a job where he handles trucking logistics. And now that ports are idling and imports are halting, the trucking industry is going to be hurting - a completely predictable downstream effect of those big beautiful tariffs. How that will affect him personally, as far as job security, I’ve no idea; but if the trucking industry collapses, it’s going to be obvious to him that Trump was NOT good for the economy.

Whether he’ll admit he was wrong or rationalize it away, I’ve no idea.

It’ll be Biden and Buttigieg’s fault.

I’m glad someone spotted that.

Ringo.

No no, they are correct, Brazil is the land of football, that’s why pride ourselves on being ahead in victories against them (we won 43 matches and they 42, Brazilians will tell you that this is not so, but you can’t trust them on that).
Other Brazilians will tell you that most of the matches won by Argentina were before Football was widely embraced there, and before they let black players play, but we don’t see how that is OUR fault.
Anyway, we have the better meat and the best players ever, but they have more World Cups and in Argentina “Cuantas Copas tenés?” is the ultimate discussion winner.

Just saw this on Reddit:

When Republican Presidents keep their promises and enact their policies, GOP politicians blame the previous administration while the conservative base blames, “The Government”. I’ve seen it here.

He might own the libs, but he no longer owns a shoe business.

Man, losing everything you have to own the libs is so hardcore!

Thread winner!

I’m sure it was worth it, because I don’t know about you all, but I’m sure feeling owned. lmao

Yeah, they’ve completely bought in on this immutable entity “the Government” that just exists to interfere with them and that the Republicans are gallantly fighting.

And they will quickly come to convince themselves any hardship or shortage they experience is worth it for the long-term cause. (They are already being softened for it with stuff like the nonsense about getting only two dolls and so forth.)

No sympathy.

You’ll note he was MORE than happy to inflict pain on others (more than that, he wanted to and reveled in it) and is only mad that he’s also getting a piece of it. A great example of what this thread is about.
