My god, Trump really is a short-fingered vulgarian. I’m a small woman and when I rest one hand over the other like that, the top hand pretty much covers the lower one. (The vulgarity speaks for itself)
Speaking of having physical shortcomings, I heard some comment today that the real reason Trump wants Qatar Force One is that he was complaining his current plane is too small in size when compared to the planes the Middle East leaders have. I guess Trump is feeling inadequate.
The current AF1 jet is the same type as the proposed Qatari gift. So no size upgrade there.
The jet that trump has owned for ~20 years for his personal use when he’s not president is much smaller. And rather old and in need of replacement one way or the other.
It’s pretty clear trump intends to die in office no matter how many years that takes. Suggesting he’ll have use of AF1 until his last ride.
So I’m not quite buying that “feeling inadequate” part of the story.
Now the idea he wants a gift jet (read $100M “bribe”) he can keep if somehow he isn’t President for life, and he’d like a jet to use now while president that isn’t USAF so it can have all the Deep State monitoring stuff not installed and lots of illegal stuff like Signal installed to enhance his criming? That part makes complete sense.
It would be a shame if an actual patriot with a Stinger missile took a shot at an ‘instant gratification’ aircraft that didn’t have countermeasures.

There’s the obvious greed and ego stroking for Trump in getting the plane, but deep-down I suspect Trump may feel inadequate about many things, even if some are only subconscious. He’s pretty defensive about his hand size, and we all know what that means

You know what would be mean? Accept the plane on behalf of the Air Force then keep having issues modifying it causing delays. “Sorry, Mr. President but the flaperon actuator rods did not meet spec. We’re having them redone. Next year for sure.” All the way up until he dies having never ridden in the thing.

As far as the plane goes, I think Trump sees a shiny object he wants, and his id wants it now.
Yes, the 200B is smaller, but not by much; the 747-8 is 18 feet longer, with a wingspan that’s 29 feet wider. The cabin is exactly the same width.
I have no doubt that someone told Trump “it’s bigger.” 
Also, Boeing is set to deliver two new Air Force One jets in 2027 (before Trump leaves office…and please no one start with the “Air Force One is whatever plane the president is on bit”). They are 747-8 (same as Qatari plane) but doubtless less opulent because of all the military stuff that is part of it.
