Whatcha think? Does it work?
I’m thinking that to rub that thing into my pits would set up a hell of a skin rash. Am I right?
Thanks

I’ve used them, and they work just fine. As far as skin irritation, I never had any using the stone, while regular deodorant does bug my skin.
I’ve used them. I have pretty sensitive skin, and I didn’t get any kind of rash.
I think that it worked pretty well for controlling odor, but not so much for wetness. I generally don’t produce copious amounts of sweat anyway, so for me it’s not really an issue. But it’s something to consider.
This is the clear rock, salty thing, that you dampen, right? Our household has been using them for about 5 years-- they work fine for odor although not for dampness as the others said-- just keeps all the odor-causing bacteria in there dead. You also don’t end up with horrible stuff caked in the armpits of your shirts. Although when I’m teaching or doing something else where I am liable to sweat and would like to smell nice rather than not smelling at all occasionally I will use a regular stick. I don’t really mind sweating as long as it doesn’t smell, though. Also keeps both of us from getting heat rash, for some reason.
I’ve used it, and wasn’t impressed. It worked ok if applied right after a shower (only for odor, as others have said). But I found that it did no good at all when used, umm, correctively. IOW, if I already stank, than it didn’t do a damn thing to dampen the odor. And it really didn’t work well enough right after a shower for me to stick with it.
It’s still sitting in my medicine cabinet, though, so I might just give it another try based on what the others here have said.
Oh, yeah–no rash. And I do have sensitive skin.
When I’m camping I want to stink.
Keeps the bears away.
I didn’t get a rash until after I had been using it for about three months. Now, I change up from month to month and it’s fine. I also can’t use it after I shave my pits. Youch! it’s painful.
No deodorant stone for me. How the hell am I supposed to carry booze in my backpack if I’m weighing it down with hygiene products?
Yeah, I’m still struggling over why Survivalists/Hikers/Campers would know the answer to this question.
