There are two things that I consider the least needed in this show, and they’re both in the finale episode.
One is Probst’s 10-minute “recap” of the entire season that happens first thing. Second is the “Walk of Remembrance”. I usually take the opportunity to go have a smoke during both of those.
They could cut down on the three-hour finale night (two hours of show and an hour of reunion) by getting rid of both of those…that’s about a half-hour gone if you include the commercials. (And I already don’t usually watch the reunion show…I have issues giving two hours of my week to TV as it is (Amazing Race and Survivor)…asking me to watch three hours in one night just to see who won is too much.)
I’d actually be happy if they flipped those two times. The final show is usually a dull, bloated spectacle, but the reunion always seems to be over too soon.
I agree about the finale. I definitely record and FF through those parts.
The Ponderosa videos on cbs.com have a little spoiler about game-structure for the next episode (not clip show)
That the next Tribal takes place the very next dayOtherwise the ponderosa videos have been pretty blah this season. (Just like the season!) With Marty and Brenda talking game-play I zone out, but when Alina puts on a bikini…Woah!
Yeah, I never understood Jane’s hate towards Marty, and I don’t think Marty ever understood either, so he ended up just attacking her. Was she also the one talking about getting rid of villains to Naonka of all people? And then she complained about Chase “breaking his word” even though he’s been in alliance with Brenda since day one and was never in a real alliance with Jane.
I really don’t think Sash’s plan was ever “let’s get a minority to win.” His plan is “let’s get Sash to win.” You have to remember that the first alliance to form on the young tribe was the macho men alliance formed by the “are you gay?” guy. Sash clearly saw he wasn’t in the group and found a way to get four random people together at the start of the game.
The worst is when the finalist doing the walk were all from the same tribe and they never even talked to the first few people voted off.
I presume there is a camp camera team and a challenge camera team, so the camp camera team doesn’t go anywhere when there is a challenge. They presumably use the downtime to shoot snakes and creepy crawlies B-roll footage or just take a break at the crew camp. I’m willing to bet once they saw the idiots pile up their chests near the campfire they decided not to stray too far from camp, just in case.
I wouldn’t mind being in Marty’s place right now. The two hottest women in the game are lounging around in bikinis all day. What this probably means is that he will have this position for part of one day and Jane will get voted off and make his life at Ponderosa miserable.
I thought it was ill conceived of Brenda to keep mentioning her tight alliance with Sash, Naonka, and Chase. She made it glaringly obvious to invisible Kelly that she wasn’t in the alliance, even though I believe that Kelly has voted with them each and every time.
I cannot believe that Chase believes that Brenda has a thang for him. When he sees the show and how she belittled him in the beginning, perhaps he’ll see what a fool he was.
I’m glad Jane hung on. I like that Jeff told her that she was NOT going to quit. You go, girl.
What crazy ass thing did Naonka do? If nothing, she does entertain, but my goodness that woman is her own worst enemy.
I wonder if they’ll eventually figure out that Dan in the final 3 might be bad. He just seems to keep flying under the radar, even though his physical limitations should have sent him home in week 1.
Naonka should have shut her mouth instead of telling Brenda about the vote. Better to blindside people than to tell them and give them an opportunity to scramble. She’s lucky that scrambling is below someone of such superior stock as Brenda.
I just don’t know what to make of Fabio. He seems so dumb but has moments of clarity and brilliance. For instance, he immediately recognized how critical it was to get rid of Brenda.
And yet Kelly still didn’t vote for her (the only one that didn’t). She voted Benry. :smack:
I’m fine with Jane winning - props to her. Not so fine with Jeff rooting her on. Part of these types of challenges is convincing your opponent that they can’t win, so they drop rather than take the pain. Jeff’s support totally overrode Chase’s “I’m feeling pretty solid” comments, and made it much harder for Chase to win. I think Jane would have dropped without Jeff’s intervention.
Jud’s alright in my book. Doesn’t seem to harbor any resentments, and doesn’t really talk bad about people (he did say something about Chase, but it wasn’t really mean, just pointing out that he can’t be trusted re: Brenda).
The more I see of Naonka, the more I think she’s not just your garden variety bitch, but that she’s actually damaged in some way. I wonder what her life has been like.
I still don’t like her, but she’s starting to inspire more pity than contempt.
That’s true, but Jeff isn’t supposed to be a silent, impartial observer. For instance, his pointed questions on Tribal Council have changed the course of the game.
