Survivor 11/17

Ummmm…

Dumbest Contestants Ever!

Yeah…I don’t know what Brenda thought was supposed to happen at Tribal, but I’d say it didn’t.

Kinda sad to see Brenda go. She was hot and she was playing the game. Her big mistake? Aligning herself with and trusting a CRAZY-ASS BITCH like Naonka. Seriously, Naonka is about as stupid as anyone I’ve ever seen on this show. She was in a pretty tight alliance with Brenda and Sash (who also has an immunity idol), and Brenda seemed to have Chase and Kelly on a leash. Why break that up at this point without a better plan in mind?

On the other hand, this has shaken things up nicely. Chase is a target now, and maybe there’ll be an effort to flush Sash’s or Naonka’s immunity idols.

Jeff actually made Purple Kelly talk! She’s not so great at it, though.

I think Brenda didn’t scramble for support at the last minute because it didn’t look like there was anybody that she would possibly be able to sway back to her side. Once the tide turned against her, I don’t think she had a chance. Her justification for not scrambling (it was beneath her) was BS, though.

I would have liked Sash to have saved Brenda with his idol, and then Sash/Brenda/Chase blindside Naonka. But Sash probably made the smarter move in hanging on to his idol. His alliance was toast and he knew it.

Tribal Council was all about game play, not one thing was said about the fire. Yes, I am sure it was discussed in the Tribal Council but it all got edited out.

And nothing was said after the Reward Challenge winners got back to camp. But WTF, haven’t they figure out how to make a fire? What real harm would there have been to let the fire go out. I am glad that they weren’t blaming anyone.

Jane continues to impress me. The lady came prepared for Survival. I really have no idea who is going to make the final 3.

I thought Brenda would be the one to win the Immunity challenge.

I guess we have a good reason why to vote out weak contestants before the merge (Dan). Because if he gets on your team in the reward challenges, you are toast.

Yeah, I’m surprised they didn’t spend more time on the fire. It wasn’t as bad as the Australia flood (and didn’t a camp burn down in another season) but I would have at least liked to see the reaction of everyone coming back from reward. I know that can’t intervene, but if I was a contestant, I would be really pissed at the cameraman that just stood there while everything burned.

While Brenda is crafty, they really should have gone for Chase. Pretty much the entire camp is against Brenda now, so she was out of numbers, Chase is a physical threat, and it would have been a safer choice if Sash had given up the idol.

Speaking of Sash, he’s clearly playing for himself and no one should trust him. I’m just wondering if he’s burning too many bridges, or if jurors like Marty and Brenda will respect his game.

I think I’ve brought this up the last few seasons (and apparently the producers just keep ignoring me), but they need to bring back the “knock each other out” challenge. Next episode would be an absolute prefect time for it. Everyone seems to be in one major alliance, which has to break apart pretty soon. The merge doesn’t work when 9 people are all together.

Go Jane. She’s my new favorite to win.

Yes, I thought her body type was a shoe-in for that challenge.
So, Sash voted for Brenda? WTF? I can’t believe she and Sash didn’t put 2 and 2 together and make sure Brenda had the II. WTF?

I think this season is picking up. This was the best episode so far.

I wonder what Na-fuck-up does next week to top the shit she’s done so far…

That’s what Brenda wanted. But if Sash had given her the idol, that would still leave him in an 3 person (4 if they pull Kelly in) alliance against 5/6, without an Idol.

WTF with the blatant spoiler in the preview for next week?

Fabio is clearly seen wearing the immunity necklace during the confessional clip of him discussing NaOnka.

You know, it could have been worse. Instead of wooden chests, they could have had jerry cans full of avgas.

This is turning into an interesting season just because the alliances are so fluid. Part of that has been because the dominant alliance made a mistake in trusting Naonka (who’s just plain crazy) and it’s falling down around her. As far as connections, you’ve got Chase-Jane and Fabio-Benry and… anyone else? Dan and Kelly are both coasting through while being out of the loop (esp. Kelly, who seemed to have no idea who people were voting for).

Go Jane! Her performance a couple weeks ago in that challenge with a guy and girl winner – where she outlasted even the guys – should have cemented my support for her, but she was just so hateful toward Marty I couldn’t get on board. But now with this challenge performance, her volcano surfing, and with her bile dissipated now that Marty’s gone, I’m firmly in the Jane camp.

Loved to see the Alliance of Racism fracture apart. When it became clear the two choices at tribal were Brenda and Nay, I was thrilled. Now if we could just get Nay gone next week, I’ll be psyched. Then Sash, of course, the mastermind behind the “let’s band all the non-whites together” idea in the first place.

As far as next week, that’s Thanksgiving Eve. Isn’t that usually a clip show?

I postulated to my wife that Naonka did in fact take a shit right in the middle of camp. I doubt that’s it, but I wouldn’t put it past her.

I was on Jane’s side when she started the fire in the opening episode. I have always wondered why, having seen this show, one wouldn’t practice that skill before showing up on the island. It really isn’t that hard to do. Just about any 11 year old boy scout can start a fire with no matches.

She has proved a few times since then that she came to this game ready to play. I am firmly in her corner.

I would have DVR’d that to replay every time I get blue.

Count me in on that. Gal is tough in several ways and I’d love to see her win against these wimps.

It is this time, although it hasn’t always been so, even when the show was actually on Thanksgiving day.

See you guys in 2 weeks!

I’m actually surprised there was a cameraman nearby to film the fire - why keep a cameraman in an empty camp? Unless of course, one of them realized that surrounding your fire with wooden chests wasn’t the greatest idea. Regardless, Burnett would have immediately terminated any cameraman who did anything but film the fire.

So, they pushed three wooden chests up to the fire in order to contain it? What did they think was going to happen?? :smack:

I’m going against the grain here and saying that Jane is really getting on my nerves. Last week when she started calling Marty “evil” and such (don’t remember all the adjectives), I remarked that she sounds like she’s going off the deep end. It’s never good to be that obsessed with hatred for one other player. When Marty got voted off she just looked so smug I wanted to reach into the TV and smack her. Then this week, she started using similar language about Brenda that she’d used about Marty. So now I figure that’s her thing – she’s driven by needing somebody to hate. Not an attractive trait.

Not to mention all the self-congratulation. Yes, it’s impressive how tough you are for your age and size. Now shut the hell up about it already.

If it’s any help, in the preview someone (Dan?) says something to the effect that “if it was a guy that did that…” I would believe anything of Naonka but I think it’s something else.

I’ve noticed that the last few seasons they stop showing the people who were voted out early during the show intro. Now they show the individual and remaining tribe members and, once started, the jury. I don’t like this because it means I quickly forget all the early people. Then, in the episode where they do the Walk of Remembrance, picking up the torches and saying a couple words about each person as if they had died for crying out loud, I mostly don’t remember who they’re talking about. Getting old, I guess.

Oh, and I don’t particularly like Jane either, but I am very impressed by her.
