Names? These people have names? Huh.
So, do ya think the guys think their “vote off the strong guys first” strategy was still a good idea?
Yep, they were just asking for a Pagong-ing, and now they are getting it.
Still, you would think a season with such blatently bad stratagy, and Ami the playboy model/amazon man hater would be fun to watch.
I just want to go on record to say that I’m really going to miss Chad. He is the most polite, calm, reasonable person yet to appear on reality tv. He was even a gentleman for his “exit quip.” And he’s cute too!
I now have no reason whatsoever to watch the show (except for the fact that I’ve got money riding on Twila - and I’m not holding out much hope for that).
I’m also going to really miss Chad. Good looking, an inspirational cancer survivor, no whining, nice build, adorable, well spoken…he was my big Survivor crush this season.
That was my biggest problem with the men. They started worrying about the end game way too early.
He’s the only one I really gave a damn about. I did have some money riding on him, but at this point, I would just as soon throw my twenty bucks down a sewer grate than watch the rest of the season. sigh
Of course, if either Leann or Twila wins, I just made $90, but I can’t bring myself to care.
The problem is, the 2 old chicks and the dude are really in an anti-Eliza party. It would be tough to regroup and bring her in when Ami can say that she saved Eliza from the chopping block when Scout wanted to throw her under the bus.
Unless ICs play a role, I can’t see a final four other than Ami, Leann (who is playing Amber to Ami’s Jerry…not Amber to Ami’s Rob), Julie and Eliza.
I think the talk of splitting alliances, even though Scout and Twila voted for Chad, will make evil Ami nervous. She’ll give them the Lisa treatment faster than you can say Tribal Council. (Sorry…that was weak).
Really, though, Dude (aka- Chris) has not shown ANY competency in the challenges. If the men had been smart, Chris would have been sent home in week 1. How he is the last man standing, I don’t have a clue. I don’t see him as a threat to the women in the ICs.
My guess is that unless Chris wins immunity, he’ll be voted off next week. Why? Because if there’s the slightest chance that a man will make it to the final 2, he’s already got 2 solid votes (Chad and Sarge). Add those 2 votes to the losers of the Eliza/Scout conflict and the numbers aren’t looking too good to win the million bucks. Eliza and Twila/Scout would be stupid to vote each other off now that they’ve burned their bridges with the men.
So even though the previews show dissension in the ranks, I imagine they’ll do what they’ve done just about every other week: pretend to consider an alternate strategy and then continue to vote the last man off. That levels the playing field for any of the women to win.
I doubt Burnett will ever separate the men and women into separate tribes again. This women power thing has gotten old. I also think more tribe switches ought to be done earlier to prevent 4-person voting blocs such as Sarge and Ami’s. At the end of the day, it makes for a real snoozer. If the women hadn’t eeked out the small advantage after the tribe switch, it would have undoubtedly been Sarge, Chris, Chad and whathisname (dude with long hair) voting off the women one by one.
Loyalty is great in real life. On Survivor, it’s booooring. I hate to say it, but I miss Johnny Fairplay.
I’m with Lisa, it’s sad when one gets nostalgic for Jonny Fairplay or Alicia’s finger-waving.
I did like Chris telling everyone that Sarge told him how to vote, just for the sheer jackassery of it. That was, as far as I can recall, the only part of last night’s episode I remember hearing. Everything else was very “blah blah blah” in the back of my head.
I think next time around, they should start in two tribes (16 or 18 players, who cares), then switch up every six days or so, effectively preventing any alliances whatsoever.
This is true, but they can get past that if Chris(?) or one of the older women gets them together and says that “in any scenario, we are the next four eliminated. You can go with them and finish 4, 5, 6, or 7, or you can go with us and finish 1,2,3, or 4.”
Barring anyone making an immunity run.
But who would they pull with this argument? There are only 7 left. Ami, Leann and Julie seem like a solid block. Why wouldn’t they let Eliza be 4th if Scout was being divisive? If I were Eliza, I’d trust Ami more than Scout, wouldn’t you?
Not after the skull-torching incident. The three made it perfectly clear who the fifth wheel was. In a particularly visually striking way. She knows she is toast.
But Scout has considered voting her out BEFORE the men because she hates her.
It seems EVERYONE hates her. That’s who I’d want in the final two.
If I were Chris, I’d just go nuts and make everyone miserable. Why bother trying to stay in the game when you will be voted out the first time you don’t win immunity? First, the flint would take an unscheduled trip into the ocean, then a few buckets of water to make sure no flame remained in the campfire. After that, the machete would probably join the flint. All the food would take a holiday. Now that I think about it, I might save a burning piece of wood to wipe out the camp.
Sure, it would be mean and hateful but it would make the show interesting. Supposedly the only rule in Survivor is no physical altercations so it should be allowed.
I had to watch this disaster for another. I dislike every one of the women. Ami makes me want to toss cookies. I will have to watch this all the way through but maybe I’ll be drunk And watching the paint dry.
NICE!
That’s one way to make the cut for Survivor: All-Stars 2!
I thought it was funny when that one woman with the big breasts told that other woman with the big breasts to shut up and the other big breasted woman just stood there.
Do you think Survivor was going for an eye candy only end game? (even at that, they could’ve gotten some prettier eye candy)
That’s just what I was going to say - I can’t believe he’s the last man there. I bet the guys that wanted to vote him out that first week are pissed.
Remember, it was his fault the men lost the first IC when he couldn’t stay on the balance beam.
I had an “Emperor’s New Strategy” thought a few weeks ago, and I’m still trying to figure this one out. Both sides wanted to vote off the younger ones–the guys, because they didn’t want the physical competition later in the game, and the women, because they really, really hated the girls. After the merge, the women wanted to vote all the guys off because they didn’t want the physical competition later in the game.
So, the basic strategy everybody (who’s still in the game) is following is, “Let’s vote off all the tough, strong, athletic people, because they’ll win all the physical challenges.”
When was the last time being tough, strong, and athletic led to a win? Ethan? That was five seasons ago!
Boston Rob could have won All-Stars with that strategy. But he was a sucker for the ladies.
