This is also the problem of editing and cramming several days into a 45 minute show. We dont know what Helen tried or did not try to do.
What we saw is that she spoke with everybody, there was a plan she was part of, and after all its a small tribe and from what I could see only one person flipped his vote or at least editing showed that he flipped his vote against Helen.
Imo she didnt do anything wrong and was simply unlucky.
Okay, didn’t they use to have a rule about you are not allowed to sit out two challenges in a row? I can distinctly remember Jeff saying something like “Blah-blah tribe you need to sit out one member, it can’t be Joe because he sat out last time.” But they let Claire sit out three times in a row, with no mention of that rule at all?
That’s a rule from when there was a reward and an immunity challenge in the same episode. You can’t sit out both. I think he might have said “back-to-back” but I’m pretty sure you were allowed to sit out immunity and then sit out the reward in the next ep.
He said in the podcast they’re looking at revising the rule.
I’m really enjoying the idea that two separate people on two different teams decided to execute the “use the note to make a fake immunity idol” scheme. Very well played, and I’m wondering if the producers foresaw that outcome.
It was 100% intended, considering they put a fake idol in the bag along with the real idol.
And gave them two separate notes.
So from this weeks episode the only reason the nerd guy voted for Sarah was just to do a blindside?
That just proves my point that luck is a huge factor in this game.
Claire was voted out after sitting out every challenge. Sitting out every challenge tells your tribe that you aren’t a good player in challenges, and are thus expendable during the pre-merge tribe phase of the game. An easy and obvious vote.
I don’t see luck as having played any part in either of the last two tribal councils. I’m really not sure what you’re seeing.
I meant last week player, Helen I think her name was and not Sarah… my mistake. Claire made sense.
That’s exactly what production wanted to happen which is why they included the idol and separate notes.
I am not really sure that I like the fact that the fake idols are created by production and look exactly the same as the real ones. Why would a player have any reason to even doubt it being real? It seems very different than a player making something on their own from spare bits found around camp.
What annoys me is that a tribe will try to vote out a member who is great at helping them win challenges early on. That is just stupid.
I also wish they showed more food gathering.
First 4 voted out last season were women. Morriah, Justine, Nneka, and Lindsay
First three voted out this season were women. Maddie, Helen, Claire.
6 person tribes and very physical challenges are putting pressure on voting out weaker players.
I hope they go back to two tribes in subsequent seasons. They might have to add a few more days to the season, but they do not have to go back to 39 days.
Please go back to 39 days and two main tribes. Some changes have been fine, but that format was better.
I think it isn’t just Covid protocols; they are saving money by shrinking the length of filming.
I just wanna say … I sat out season 42, because I thought I was done with this show. I came back for 43 and 44 and it was a good choice. I am so glad they’re done with bring back “all stars” – that season where Boston Rob and Sandra were supposed to be some kind of gurus was the worst. And that they’re done with “redemption island” and other bullshit ways of resurrecting the dead.
I think the reason they went with three tribes is to avoid large alliances that makes the outcome boring.
This way the alliance numbers are kept small and possible to overcome.
I really like when the group is split in two and each gets an immunity and an elimination. That usually shakes things up.
I believe the reason for a 26 day season is the 14 day CV19 quarantine period that they needed
Still? I’m beginning to suspect budget cuts to the show as well.
The last two seasons were shot in Spring of 2022 so quarantining was still a thing.
No idea if there will be a quarantine period when they film the next two seasons which should start soon.
I’m surprised that there is no “older” person this season.
I pretty sure 26 days is the standard going forward even without the quarantine. If they can put out the same show in 2/3rds the time and cost, they’re going to do it. Notice how they not even mentioning the days count anymore?
